Today I tried a new vape shop and asked for something more powerful than what I have, which is a Jac s17. It leaks a lot and I wanted something a little stronger. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to vaping so I went with what was offered. I now have a Smok stick P25..
I wasn't asked how I vape, which is MTL. As soon as I got it home I tried it and the top seems so huge and it's so powerful that I can't do a proper 'draw' on it like I did with my other one.
I asked if I could return it and have been told I can't. I feel I've just wasted a lot of money. I can't get used to it at all. Is it safe to MTL it if I close the air holes at the sides? I'm using at 3mg juice with it whereas I was using a 16mg with the old vape.
Thanks !

I don't see why it wouldn't be safe. Probably won't be a very satisfying vape though compared to a dedicated MTL tank.

I wish I hadn’t rushed in and bought it now. With the juice it came to just under £50

hi @magik and welcome to the planet.
not a good start.
how long have you has the jac vapour s17 as usually they are very good. all the kits ive had have never leaked unless juice accidentally goes down the middle instead of in the tank. what is usually suggested is to flick the mod like a fishing rod with a quick downward motion and it should clear the chamber to stop the leaking.

onto smok, ahh smok.
not much liked on here but sad to hear the vape shop wont help out. did you just ask for a refund or a swap for something else explaining you was actually after mouth to lung.

i dont know anything about this kit but a quick google shows it has a tfv12 tank which is pure direct to lung at high wattage 80-100watts and goes down lower as the battery drops. sadly i dont think you will be able to get a mtl hit from that even with the air holes almost closed.

hopefully someone else who does use smok will be able to advise better than me.

Hi mate.

A bit bizarre to be offered a sub-ohm device to someone who clearly wants a MTL with higher nic strength. A few issues is 3MG isn't going to be enough since you are used to a 16MG, so you will use it much more than before, therefore spending more money on juice.

The P25 (Prince) is definitely for someone who wants a low nicotine and wants to blow out big clouds, not for someone who's after packing in the cigs.

To answer your question, using a tighter airflow will help slightly but you will still DL (direct lung) hit it, so the sensation will be unfamiliar to you who has been used to MTL (like a cigarette). You could have it as a secondary vape for when you want to kick back and relax, though.

I would have recommended an Aspire K2 or K3 if you want something a bit better than the Jac Vapour s17 (I own one and it does leak). But since you said you want something stronger, do you mean more vapour or a kick? The s17 is a pretty good device for that and not too restricted where you can get a DL coil and get your kick.

... also tell us the shop, we might be able to shame them into giving you something back. ;)

Thanks everyone!
I think the first question they should’ve asked was how I vape. They’ve said there’s nothing they’ll do and tried pushing the fact that it has a good battery life to make me want to keep it.
I will have to put it down as a lesson learned. I wish I’d come here first!
I’ve had the Jac for about 4 months but it doesn’t charge well, I think it has a loose connection somewhere and the leaking is terrible. I had another before that which was faulty. I haven’t had much luck have I?
I’m very tempted to name them but I’m going to send them one more message today and if that’s still a ‘no’ then I will!

Hi Magik. I’m fairly new to vaping myself but can definitely second @Simon G with the recommendation of the zlide tank, it’s great for MTL. Also if it helps I also have a sub ohm tank which I use a weaker nic strength juice in just for a relaxed vape as although it doesn’t give the hit or mimic smoking in the same way it is great when used as intended (huge difference in flavour!). If you aren’t able to return your tank get yourself a MTL tank for general use and enjoy the Smok stick for lighter times, you may find more enjoyment out of it that way and all may not be lost .

I don’t go into many vape shops but I’ve seen this a couple of times now sadly.

Thankfully you can use the mod with another tank and the one Simon linked sounds perfect for you and a good price too!

As mentioned Jac customer service is excellent but you may have had the device too long now to get it changed? However, it is worth contacting them about the device and the leaking. Even if they can’t change the device for you they will still help you via their online chat. They are very good!
