What's new

MTL a sub ohm?! Have I just wasted my money

So can I use the tank recommended with the new smok stick? Sorry I’m confused!

Yes you can. The atomiser can be removed from the battery stick. And you can put a new atty in its place

But it's a bypass type thing though, non-variable isn't it?

at 4.2v it's going to blast almost 37w through a coil designed (Plex3D) for 13-16w!

and the other 1.6ohm coil will be running right at the bottom of it's power range even at full voltage.

He really needs a variable wattage mod ........ as I said.

Highly disappointed in the shop, the best thing is to keep the device and play with DL vaping ( or see if a member is i terested in it, to recover some of the investment) I was against direct lung vaping at first but love it now. I started with Aspire K3 tanks and still recommend them as they are arealky good, £7-8 on amazon. A pack of 5 coils is £9 and they last a lot. As battery mod I advise to get a eleaf ipower, i had the 80W ,a bit big, but with a k3 on it it will last forever. Or the 40w one . I have spent hundreds by now on vape stuff untill I found what suits me best..

I can second the recommendation for the Aspire K3 - no leaks easy to fill and the coils last pretty well. Bargain price too.

I'm using at 3mg juice with it whereas I was using a 16mg with the old vape.
Thanks !

Ergh - that is quite a drop btw

I would have lowered in stages, 16mg to 11/12, to 9 to 6mg
but I know others have dropped in larger jumps
you might have been better off going for 12mg or 9mg than down to 3mg imho
then lowered it a bit more when you feel ready
but you might be ok - just pointing out you might be lacking the nic fix you was used to

I'd recommend the zenith/zlide & 0.8 Ohm coil

If you are after an ultra cheap mod as cheap as possible....

it is OK, got a few, bit bulky but titchy, 1400mah only goes to 45w
but as you are likely to hitting say 15w it will suffice for most MTL's on a tight budget
at least you can tweak or adjust the power settings
(should last you 24hrs unless you are really caning or chain vaping it)

I would not advise it for high wattage DTL users of course
as a general rule of thumb, in a number of electrical instances I prefer to only use about 50% rating
in many instances, not just vaping. that way you are never gonna risk pushing the power limits
plus often these ratings are absolute ratings and China battery capacities are often inflated a bit
So if you stay at say 20~25w power settings you should be fine than chain at 45w max setting

22mm tanks are fine, 24mm tanks overhang slightly but due to the design or diamond shoulder/style
it just about gets away with a 24mm tank just starting to overhang....
yes it overhangs a smidge but passable on 24mm tanks

It is set for the wanky pod, it is shit - bin it
RTFM to adjust from pod setting to wattage mode blah blah blah

only gripes are - bit chubby & fair weight for something so small - but does the job
other minor gripe is that there is no pass-through or vape whilst charging
when it is charging, you can't grab the odd toot - which most mods allow you to do :(

Other tiny gripes or points.....

There is a slight gap between mod & tank when fitted - if this really bothers ya
you can only adjust power if display is lit - this is a good/bad point depending
good coz you can't ramp up the power by accident - i've somehow whacked power up to 75w on some mods
and gone fuck me - that's that coil knackered or severely shorten it's lifespan, by accident or something
bad - ergh coz you need to fire it briefly to light the display then adjust power
(well not really bad, just something to remember or get used to how the pcb firmware works)
puff counter - woo hoo (couldn't give a fuck)
(don't think it tells you the duration of ya toots - again couldn't give a fuck for the price)
silly fucking lanyard bollocks - if you ran with it hooked around your neck it would knock you out
but yeah - it's along the similar spec as say an Innokin Pebble mod maybe ?????

But it's as cheap as chips, worth buying one or two - just as a backup mod for mild wattage MTL users
Actually it is more than just OK for the money, it is fairly decent for a basic mod
(I've bought far worse & all the gripes/flaws/qwirks are just me being a bitchy tarty critic)

Ah my bad I thought it was a regulated mod. Apologies
edit
Surely with the right coils the mod will perform within all the correct wattages anyway? At 1.6 will be around 11 watts. and the .8 will be around 22watts. Isn't the coil you're talking about a .48 which should be running around those temps you mentioned anyway?

Sorry @Simon G I'm not the best with this so forgive me if ive just said something daft :)

No the coils that come with the tank are a 0.48 plex 3D coil (fitted) which is only 13-16w, it a mesh MTL coil. .... so that's gonna fry.

The 1.6 (which is the spare coil) is rated at 10-14w. My brother in-law runs them at 13w, so yeah it will get 11w at 4.2v but down at 3.7 nominal voltage it's only going to be putting out 8 or so watts, which isn't really enough for the coil. I think it would be a very weak and whispy vape.

You might be able to buy another packet of coils that work, but it's more fucking about and more potential money down the drain. I think it's better to just get something that's gonna do the job properly in the first place. ..... which a cheap i-stick or something would do.

For the record I preferred the Indigenous North American woman Simon. Who is the new one anyway?
