MVP2 Button bits n pieces

hot glue's generally used to keep things in place...
you dont actually need a gun to use it...just heat it with a lighter/small blowtorch...not ideal but it works.
insulating tape would do... for insulating.
or chemical metal would be my choice for making sure something never moves..ever

ah haa - cheers

silicone sealant will work ok and it's easy to remove.

I went with metal epoxy - that wire aint gonna come lose again!

Huzzah! it's back to normal! The button is just as crap as it was before.

Thanks to all for their help :-)

and the reason for this saga?

Just to replace that bleeding o-ring that gets pushed down - i used a crappy bit of plastic from an old cart cover ;-)

out of curiosity... how easy a job was it ?
Other than bodging bits you'd lost ;-)

well i started by following this dude...

So it could be a 5 min job if you don't break the connection to the pin when lifting it up and have a flexible o ring.

but i didn't have a small enough O-ring so used this bit o plastic and put a hole in it ;-) so impossible to do without taking it apart, breaking the connection and threading over the center pin from below.

But my mvp had been playing up a bit before, was thinking one of the wires had come lose so i went the whole hog and opened it up. (turned out the yellow one)

Be prepared to solder if it goes tits up - but it's all good fun.

Note - pulling the top plate off is a tidge difficult cos the button gets in the way (press it in and under) + it seems glue on the battery holds it back a bit.

When u come to put it back, the button bits are placed through the hole over the switch on the circuit board

something like this from maplins should have the part a concave metal disk. but not sure it will be the right size but it's worth a try.
