MVP3 Ohms Changing Slightly

Hi guys,

I recently bought an MVP3 which I love. I've always been a fan of the MVPs since I started vaping about 18ish months ago.

As of late, I've begun to get a bit of a shift on the ohms reading. I tried a dual coil set up on a Vulcan RDA (clone) yesterday and it was pretty much at 1.1 Ohms. But often it'd move to 1.2. Not a big deal, but every now and then it'd jump to around 2.0. And within seconds come back to 1.1 again.

I thought it was maybe just my crappy coil building skills. But this evening I've done a single coil on a Veritas (clone... *sigh* money...) and the same thing is happening. I've not noticed any big jumps, but it's constantly switching between 1.5 and 1.6.
I've no idea if this is a big deal. And I feel stupid for not purchasing a Ohmsmeter before (just bought one), but it is troubling. Although my face isn't much to look at, I'd rather keep it in one piece.

I've searched around and I can't find anything relating to the MVP doing this. And "MVP" and variations of "Ohms" are common search terms, so I often get reviews and no information which I need.

Is this common? Is it the MVP, or the RDA? The latter question is a bit stupid with such vague information. However, if this happened to you, where and what would you check?

Thanks.

The symptoms suggest a connectivity issue somewhere. I'd start with the coils in the rda's post screw terminals & then check it on a different device to eliminate whether it's the mod or the atty at fault.
A fluctuation of .1 ohm is fair enough, even .2 because resistance changes with temprature but if it's jumping up to 2 ohms then somrthing is hitting & missing.
Check all connections, mod & atty. If they are all ok & it still does it, maybe it's a fault in the mvp.

I think it may be a glitch with the MVP, ive had a big jump on mine once and nearly burnt my lips off because I didn't realise it jumped!

But of advise though the slightest bit of dirt/moisture between the 510 threading on the mod and the Atty can mess with the resistance

With it being a new mod it could well be a fault in the chip and I have read of people's mvp3 just dying on them so if I was you I'd let the vendor know now of a possible problem with it then if it gets worse or stops working you can send it back with the vendor already knowing about it
