What's new

My nemesis aka the 510 connector

Hope it all goes swimmingly well. I have 'stuff' on the way too. Hopefully next month I'll finish building my first VV bottom feeder - though I am expecting a few 'opportunities to resolve'.

well the 2 Box mods i have made have both failed on the 510 connector my first worked about 2 months the second was about a month i got a connector off Stealthvape
i'll make another soon

the Insulator failed on both of them but the O ring fix looks interesting off Vapourtrails i should say i just re read my other post before
i am not saying the connector failed because i bought it from Stealthvape it was Definitely my own soldering that why i got one all ready soldered this time

Ha ha! Don't worry mate, I didn't read it as a problem with a particular connector - just that it has failed. I don't think many people would argue that the centre pin insulation is the weakest point of connectors. I find that when a connector fails it is invariably the miniature grommet that is the problem. I've got a solution to it that has never (as yet!) failed. I'll have a go at posting some piccies in the modders section over the weekend.

Cheers!

yeah them grommetts are a PITA look forward to another Solution have you seen the O ring Fix its on their forums and HiFistud showed it on one of his shows

No I haven't - I'll have a search and see what it throws up. My "fix" is a bit fiddly, but once the grommet is in place, it stays there (you can get them out if you need to). Six months on one of them to date and still going strong! :loyal: If you want me, I'll be in the mancave with the camera - back in a bit...

Replacing a damaged 510 connector grommet...

OK - back from the cave - here's the method I use to replace knackered grommets in 510 connectors - funky colours and work like a dream! The grommets are made of rubber not silicone, and seem to last for months...

The process gets a bit fiddly when you are trying to seat the grommet inside the connector, but a drop of water to lubricate and a bit of swearing works wonders!

Cheers!
