Hello,

Been vaping now for a couple of months on an Innokin Endura T20s with 1.5 ohm coils and then bought an MVP 4 to add some battery life.

Recently bought an Aspire NX30 second hand with Nautilus X primarily to check out the tank and variable airflow settings.

Got some new 1.8 ohm coils for the Nautilus X but looking for some advice on settings. Have put my favourite RY4 liquid in the tank but cant get the same flavour I get from the T20s tank. I have tried everything from 12-18watts and adjusting airflow.

Am I doing something wrong or is the Nautilus X just not as good as the T20s tank?

Also if anyone knows a good Tobacco eliquid that mimics Benson and Hedges or Malboro I have yet to find one?

Thanks for reading

Rich

You won't get the same flavour ... it's totally different tank and coil.

It's not about one being better than the other, it's about one suiting your tastes and the e-liquid too to a certain extent.

As Simon says each tank , coil will give the user different flavour / experience . I used the Nautilus X at 12.4 watts . I have as well a T20 and find it probably slightly better .

I use the 1.8 ohm coils at between 16-17w usually. I originally thought that was a bit high, but it seems to work for me. I think there's a definite 'new coil' taste for half a tank or so. Other than that, as @Simon G said, you're never going to get the exact same flavour from two different tanks.

Thanks for the reply. I did notice the flavour takes a little time to break in and I did read something about that. I had to bump it up to around 18w to get the flavour to be less muted. I did try the same RY4 bottle in my T20s and found that it wasnt as strong flavour. Either Im getting a cold or its a weak batch bottle.

Going to possibly try a 510 adaptor and get a narrower bore drip tip for it to see if that heightens the flavour. Either that or I may try a different tank like the Triton Mini to see if thats any better. Want to get 2 setups working so I can have a tobacco one and then one for fruits/sweet stuff.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'm learning slowly. Got so used to the T20s and now trying something new I need to recalibrate. For a new vaper it can just get a little frustrating in the sense of "why doesnt this work like this does". The T20 starter kit was very plug and vape. Looks like there are a lot of factors to consider. As mentioned below may try a different drip tip and see if that improves flavour.

On the point about tanks suiting eliquid. Does drip tip, coil, tank have a preferred type of e-liquid and mix. So one tank may be better for tobacco and different mix of PG/VG.

Just trying to get as much info as possible.

Thanks

they can do for sure ...... it's largely personal preference but I think a lot of us have 'tobacco tanks' and 'custard tanks' ... that kind of thing, because we just find that different tanks are better able to reproduce certain flavour notes better than others.

It's probably not as specific as I'm making it sound but you could take say a simple 2 fruit mix of strawberry and banana and find that in one tank you taste more banana and in the other you taste more strawberry. .... you sometimes find the same thing at different power settings too. I vape a coconut tobacco and I find the less power I put through the coil (ie the cooler the vape) the more the coconut comes through, at higher power the tobacco tastes stronger.

VG/PG ratios are more about how quickly a tank can wick, but VG tastes sweeter and PG is a better carrier of flavourings too. Over 60% VG and I can taste the sweetness of the VG along side the flavourings.
