Hi Everyone.

OK, I am entering new ground as far as my vaping goes and I'd like some advice if possible please.
I am now the very proud owner of a very nice Jazz Carto Pipe. I would like to use it with Cartomisers and not end up running tanks as they spoil the whole look of this particular model as far as I am concerned. I had a quick lesson in the art of Cartomiser filling whilst at Safercigs and have now also tried the condom method with some success. So my first question, which is probably ridiculously stupid and I do acknowledge this, is roughly, how long would you expect a Fill to last? The only previous experience I have had has been from Punched Cartos in tanks, so I have no idea what sort of length of time a filled Carto should be lasting me? I assume, and I know one never should assume anything, that as soon as I get a hint of roughness, it's time to top up, or refill?

Next question. As I have a few Cartos, I have dedicated one to each juice that I am currently using. If I replace the Bung on the top of the Carto and then pop covers on Top and Bottom, will that keep the Carto moist? Or do I just top up every time I change flavours? I do realise that these questions are pretty basic, but I would like to get the best possible vaping experience and having now spent a fairly considerable sum on the Pipe, it would be a shame to spoil the whole experience by being downright stoopid.:noob:

Next Question. When we were down at safercigs Carol chose an Innokin MVP as her weapon of choice. She is currently using a Smoktech Aro Clearomiser and is very impressed by the flavour and TH that she is getting. There were 2 Dual Coil Tanks in the box with the MVP, I have tried one on my Ego Twist and am very taken with how well this Dual Coil Tank works and the great flavour I am now getting. I am assuming (there I go again!!) that I can recoil these myself?

Many thanks in advance for your patience and any tips you offer.

best wishes
Rob

A fill will last depending on how much you vape, what the resistance is and sans any leaking.

Yep, popping those lil silicone condoms on will help keep the carto from drying out or getting any other funkies inside it :) You'll need to top up as often as possible to make sure the coil inside is staying wet and to avoid burns.

If they are the DCT cartomisers with the silver metal tube, then no, you can't recoil them yourself. (got any links?)

Hi,

These are the Clearomizers that come with the MVP http://www.safercigs.co.uk/INNOKIN/cat705284_2062353.aspx sorry, I wondered whether we were talking at cross purposes? It is these that I was hoping were rebuildable. I am guessing that Cartos are way beyond my capabilities to re build?

Those clearos sure can be rebuilt, there should be a how to in the How To section :)

Cartos pretty much cant be rebuilt as all their bits are encased inside a metal tube with wadding wrapped around the coil.. You pull the wadding, most of the time to coild rips out too. If you are really careful though, you can turn a carto into a dripper (but thats if youre desperate!) lol

The best way to learn about how long a carto lasts is to sacrifice one in the name of science.

Just fill one up - and then use it until it burns and you have to throw it away. You've just discovered how long one will last without topping it up.

That time varies a lot depending on your vaping habits and involves such variables as:
how filled it is
how much e-liquid the wadding in that make of carto can hold
what resistance the coil is
what voltage you apply to the coil
how often you vape
how hard you suck
whether you keep holding the button after you inhale, or if you inhale for a little while after you let go of the button
what e-liquid you use

There are a lot of variables, but if you use one till it dies it'll give you a good benchmark number for how frequently you need to refill.
Once you get your benchmark figure then start topping it up well before it would die and you'll get the maximum life out of your cartos from then on.

If you're vaping and you notice the flavour changes noticably then this is also a sign that you need to top up, it's gets easier to spot that point with experience.
