The perception of better comes from the increased surface area evaporating more liquid, fine for DTL but in an MTL scenario be prepared to fill the tank more often and the risk of boiling the liquid through overheating because of the confined chamber. Tried it for a bit, it's a nonsense.

I've already been down this path and found that simple spaced ss, kanthal or ni80 coils suit me better than claptons.
A coil magician is a good investment if you're ham fisted like me
