So iv been looking around vape shops, and at online stores etc.
Im currently running an ego ctwist, and mini nova btw...
Now, iv seen all these huge batteries, some plain, some with various displays on the side etc, and I just cant see the point?
I can understand the genesis thing, that looks awesome and something ill consider in the future.
But as far as the batteries are concerned, is it just the rolls royce appeal?
Or do they actually add something to the experience (that justifies the money)?
Is there some sort of guide online that can fill me in on the various types of advanced "mods" that are available, and what they actually do?

Thanks for any help!

For me the reason I got into big battery mods was purely practical. I got sick of charging batteries and I work outside so don't always have access to charging facilities. Then I got sick of the cheaper ones going wrong so bought a more expensive (2nd hand) mod but things have come on a long way in a short time and I believe most of the cheaper big battery mods are pretty reliable these days. But originally it was just pure practicality. I haven't used a twist but by all accounts they give a great vape :) Oh and as to somewhere to check ou all the various mods you need look no further than our very own potv wiki-launched today!

Same for me, practicality. I didn't like having to charge a battery every couple of hours, plus I wanted to try Variable Voltage, at the time, Twists and Spinners weren't available.

Same here big mod switch to get longer life out of the batteries, but now switched I wouldn't look back although I always carry an ego with me just for a bit of discretion

Have always used an eGo as my daily Vape as it fits perfect in the pocket and with a Viva or Maxi clearomiser hold enough juice for half the day so only need a few batteries a day. For that perfect night Vape I stay mostly with the twtwist

welcome to the forum..

I think for me getting my big bad mods meant I could have toys to play with, look at, feel, it satisfies a certain addictive aspect of my personality, and has nothing to do with practicality...mods are great for the big rebuildable devices, which, as you say, look awesome, but still just another way to deliver flavour, as a mod is another way to deliver voltage... a vamo and an aga t, an igo l, and a dct tank should cover just about everything anyone needs, really...a twist and a nova, a dct, and an eternity, or a 510/306 dripper could do the same...but...I could even cope with three ecig lookalikes, a couple of juices, and some cartos, I have just chosen to go a bit mental with the vape gear, mostly to the power of my own enjoyment (occasionally, to my regret). Different strokes, and all that jazz.

My fingers start getting cooked due to small batteries getting hot. I then have to switch to the big unit. It does not feel hot like the Egos. I vape virtually all day.

switched mainly to vv/vw mods after seeing on various forums of people saying "improved taste hit etc even though number one for me is mainly taste, like most we all started on ego type and was satisfied, but for some it does question the words "improvement in quality of vape", i tried the twist etc ,but found one a few attys worked well on one variable but didnt on other, also like most of us its a question of budget and affordability, thats when by chance the break out of the Vamo started ,it was in my budget so thought well nothing ventured or gained and a lot better to lose a bit if i dont like it,but turned out to be a blessing have 2 now lol i use mine at work for battery lasting mainly sometimes will have it with the 18650 mode but mainly 18350,but its a bit on larger side since i drive for a living and with an aga t on it ,so have just ordered a telescope mech mod to try

The Little Ego Twist is a nice thing, pop a decent little tank on top and you're onto a winner, If you vape a lot though battery life becomes an issue so some people get an extra twist battery, others like me catch the shiny bug and move on to the big jobbies both for the extra battery life (some will take several sizes - so batteries for every occasion) and for the extra adjustability and features. Finally some of the big jobbies just look so Awesome...:thud:
