Oh no, my mod collection has all gone wonky!

Hi everyone, as you know I have not been active for a long time, and thought I would maintain my mods, giving them a good clean etc and testing them.

Out of all 44 of my mods, I would say only a 1/4 are working now, obviously the mechs are fine but the regulated ones have decided to crap out on me.

The ones that have stayed working are an IPV 3 LI, an IPV 5, a Wismec RX2/3, RX200, DNA 200, a regulated squonker that for the life of me I can't remember its name, an Evic VTC mini, an IPV D3, and a OG Sigelei 150.

The others have just been sitting on top of my ottoman but won't even power on, so I have lost mods like the minikin, 3 DNA 200's, some other sigeleis and also other brands including a small silver 60W mod that has a built in Lipo that I really liked.

Does anyone have any idea what I can try to do to bring life back to these mods? Surely they couldn't have all just died from sitting on top of my ottoman, all of them apart from the Li-Po mods were stored without batteries in them.

What can I try and do? I will obviously try cleaning the battery contacts first, but any ideas what else could be going on? As I don't see the boards just failing from not being used.

Any help would be much appreciated, Conan.

What condition are the batteries in?
The batteries are all in good condition, and are all Molicell P26A's and one P42A for the mods that use that size, also one Efest 20700 3000MAH 30A cell ( I know you can't really trust Efest's specs but I think it was the only battery in that size I could get, and if I remember correctly Mooch rated them well).

Might sound weird but try putting some bats in them and charging via USB, its worked for me before, I found that some mods will reset and become functional. My problem is with seized fire buttons due to no use in years, specifically my Tesla invader 4s, it's a bummer because they were working perfectly .

Hmm I will give that a try, thank you for the advice!

I have already connected the 3 DNA200's that are not working, and unfortunately it is the Li-Po's in them, each individual cell is showing a hugely different voltage.
Luckily that means I can still use 2 hotcig DNA 200's as I bought the dual 18650 battery attachment for them, and being limited in power won't matter as I am not a high wattage vaper, so 3 of my DNA200's are working. The lost vape effusion will need a new Li-Po to work.

Have you thought about trying to spray some electrical contact cleaner on the Tesla Invader 4s fire buttons? I always have a can and it is a godsend for electricals, and has helped me with scratchy pots on my guitars amongst other things.

I wouldn't fuck around with the lipo mods too much, lipo bats can become very unstable, I think they like to be regularly charged and as a minimum kept at their nominal voltage. An overly discharged lipo is probably not a happy bunny, don't really know with the built in ones though.

I've got some decent switch cleaner, never really had much luck with it, the Invaders need dismantling, it's not an easy job getting them back together, they can stay in the draw

If you want to sell the efusion I would be interested wanted one for awhile if not that's cool I understand

I have a bunch of Sanyo 2070B's if that's any use to you?
Thank you, the 20700's are only for one mod and one mech mod that take that size so I wouldn't really use them, but I appreciate the offer.

I will definitely have a think about it, I have replaced the Li-Po once already so there are small triangular cutouts on one side, where they made it impossible to get to the screws without doing this. As the Li-Po needs replacing anyway it would be something that would have to be done anyway to replace it, but just thought I would let you know about this.

That's no problem like I said I understand if you want to keep it and that's some good info if I did manage to find one 😉
