old hand at smoking - new to vaping

Hello everyone - it's nice to meet you all. I'm hoping that you can give a new girl some advice - the world of vaping certainly seems like a potentially baffling place.

I'm still smoking tobacco at the moment and am looking for a safe alternative to help with my cessation.
I have been researching all morning and am none the wiser so I thought I would ask the experts (that's you guys).

Ok, so - I have smoked for about 25 years and am ready to quit. I smoke rolling tobacco - Golden Virginia - and hate the taste of 'real' cigarettes. I would like to try an e-cig but have no idea where to start. I smoke around 20-30 filtered rollies a day.

I would prefer something fairly slimline with a decent throat hit. I can't imagine me ever being interested in gummy bear flavour or whatever - I'd just like regular tobacco flavour really.
I have seen some pretty cool looking pink and gold numbers (so vain!) which I would prefer.
I work from home so charging them wouldn't be too much of a problem. I don't mind spending up to about £30 - is that reasonable?

What would you recommend for me? I'm excited for the adventure to begin. I'm in the UK too so if you could recommend a website for me - I would be very grateful.

Yes its bloody confusing isnt it lol I started out on a 510 (basically slimline but attractive looking) So a good place to start me thinks if battery life isnt a problem ...be warned you will rip the arse outta the batteries though ...if you buy a kit they come with atomisers and tanks ...the tanks don`t hold a lot of fluid and you will overdraw ( fluid into mouth) not pleasant ...so personally I would suggest 510 batteries and a rather tart looking cartomiser ( many styles and prices ) Also I would shop on here under the discount codes tab ....I was right royally ripped off first time round

The above will give you the feel of a cig but not the look ....but I must stress battery life is not good so buy several ( 3-4) for when your out and about

I`m now on the ego 1100 much more chunky battery

You might cough for a lil while longer after switching, but this will be down to your body getting rid of all the nasties and goes away pretty quickly

i dont know how many will agree with me on the juice but a usual safe bet is to get a good mint or menthol juice...its sooooooo subjective what you will like a mint is always better than a horrible apple or cherry etc...just a thought

lol its not scary but bloody disgusting and almost put me off ...I think they are a cut above the cigilikes ...but slimline and aimed at smokers ....we tend too draw to hard at the start hence the problem

Also check the MAH on batteries the higher the MAH the longer they last.

I`ve yet to try the golden virginia from any of the lovely vendors here but a place called oksmokey do a good imitation too get you started last thing you want is a truely crap vape to start with

Smoker of rollies and fags for 32 yrs ....vaping for 3 weeks lol

I found it useful to use both and gradually move completely to vaping
