Patination on plated cover?

I was thinking of having a go at patinating my Zero Mini clone battery cover, but looking at it closely (and at the description on Fasttech) I suspect it's plated stainless steel and not copper (I have the rose gold one).

Does anyone think I stand a chance of getting a decent effect, and if you think it's worth a try what would you recommend I use in this case?

Sorry it's a bit vague, and please forgive me if I'm asking a stupid question - I'm new to this!

You probably shouldn't try, it's not really copper but a colouring over SS so the effect will be very unpredictable - anything from simply not working to looking uglier than a monkeys butt...

Myself and @HAZZA1962 have both normal and mini Zeros and have been very contented with wrapping the spare covers, Ask the aforementioned Hazza as he has a great link and has become an expert on wraps..

Thank you, I may well do that. I weakened over Easter and succumbed to a second mini in the Gearbest sale. Oooooops.

I've got a few for the full size Zero but I haven't bothered with the mini and I've just stuck with the Snakeskin!!!
The Walnut one looks quite nice I think !!!
