Popping coils - argh!

I've also spent the day researching and the amount of conflicting advice is ridiculous.

I've discovered:

  • That the wire from the top coil should be straight.
  • That the wire from the top coil should have a kink.
  • That the wire from the top coil should be slack.
  • That the wire from the top coil should be taut.
  • That the wire from the top coil should be oxidised.
  • That the wire from the top coil should not be oxidised.
  • That the wick should bend in towards the centre post.
  • That the wick should not bend in towards the centre post.
  • ...

  • That the only solution for me is to try everything over and over until I find a solution which works for me.

Plus, if anyone else is hunting for springs and steel washers for their gennie atties:

I chopped a biro spring to fit but it is rough and nasty at one end now, it does the job in a fashion but I really don't like it simply because it looks crap.

The smallest washers I have located so far are 1.6mm hole, which makes it slip over the centre post nicely, and 1mm width of carbon steel so it extends from under the grub nuts...but not too far. I'm going to buy a pack of 50 on Friday (it's the smallest batch they do) and am happy to send them out for free to any who want them. I'll even let you know where to get a bag of 50 if you really want to pay for it, I'm all heart.

The compression spring was easy: http://www.entexstocksprings.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=1152 and the MOQ is one at 34p per spring

Looking at the spec it's larger than the washer hole and will compress to just 2.12mm

The true only solution mate is the one that works for you, we can all advise what we do, but try different methods and you will soon find the one for you :)

I'll be going with what you said first off :D

Now here's something worthy of a bash (from Wick & Wire)

That does look like a good idea, and since I've just cleaned my AGA-T2 I may give that a go tomorrow

  • Rei Asaka This is Arrow Genesis.
An inside is very narrow and SS Wick 2mm is a limit in a hole.
A liquid may be insufficient for a thin thing like 2mm SS Wick.
Only a few is solved by putting in a cotton in a tank like this photograph.

Please see the portion of a black circle.

  • Ryan Whistles Allen This is genius. How well does it keep up... Can you chain vape at normal genesis pace?

  • Carlo Canlas Nice! Thanks for sharing. Finally built something on a genny I love. Works great too using a mesh instead of ss wire. Chain vaping all day! Thanks again.

Rei Asaka There is the attractive and free feature which is not until now in this Auto Dripper I considered.
In fact, it is not necessary to set a coil to the Wick hole.
Atty which can control an air hall can attach a coil to a reverse position in this way.
It is the photograph set up as an example using QZI510Atty.

I'll have a few of those washers Mawsley, if you don't mind. Happy enough to buy them, but I can't see me ever finding a use for 50 of them. Now off to discover how to PM on here. Never done that before on PotV. Exciting.

update: pm sent

Sorry remnant, old chap. The Kayfun robbed me of my washer-buying monies so if anyone else wants a bag of 50: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008FXXIZI

I was being cagey because they only have 7 bags and I really wanted a couple badly :D

Maybe someone could send me a couple now! ;)
