protank/evo etc gurgling leaking fix

Hi guys

Im not sure if this has been posted but I just came across an excellent article that I though might help people with issues with their protanks. I was having nothing but trouble with my protank 2 and it gurgling/leaking using the genuine kanger coils. Funnily enough cheap ones worked okay!

It recommends to use the one rubber grommet upside down on the coil. This didn't work for me but the second fix of having 2 grommets on did ☺

My old kanger protank is leaking something shocking. I fill it up and take a toot and it gurgles and then leaks onto the top of my vamo!! Is this the same for you? I've rebuilt the coils and it works well apart from the awful leaking.

I haven't used my mini PT2 for a bit, but when I got it I had a few leaking issues. What worked for me was replacing the little flavour wicks on top of the coil with one piece of 2mm silica. I had it slightly extending out of the attomiser chamber and into the tank - this closed the gap between the tank and attomiser nicely for me.

I guess that would work too. The key is to get a tight seal between the grommet and the chimney because as standard it is letting in juice and causing the gurgling/leaking. I'm guessing putting in another wick would raise the grommet ever so slightly creating a tighter seal.

I've just done one full tank and not a hint of any leaking! That is taking it right down to empty too

My protank 3 gurgled and spat juice at me and flooded out the 510 virtually from word go
Looked on Internet and recoiled it with single coil at 1.4 ohm
Wicked it with 2mm ekowool and strip of same above and below coil
So 3 ekowool wicks and no popping spitting gurgling or leaking
Vaped it from full tank all the way empty
All I will say it took awhile to bed in and be flavourful so persevere after first build

My protank 2 has been transformed by using the airflow controller from Myepack

lt would have been in the bin by now if I hadn't bought one.

I have the airflow controller too and bought from myepack. I love the fact I can adjust it and get a tighter draw as I found it too airy without it. But this alone did not stop the leaking in to the chimney unfortunately with the genuine coils.
