Rags beast mod High Voltage Box mods style

I'm very very meticulous with checking.my battery charge level, in fact if I.go out for a long.time I take a multimeter to check them.. haha
Ever since vapefest when I drained a battery to 2.6v... >.>
Plus, the voltmeter will do both under load, and off load without an.attie attached ;)

Yep, with you there, I am normally very careful. My raptor box has a voltmeter in it that reads 510 and battery voltage, it saves a great deal of time faffing with the tankometer definitely a worthwhile feature to your box!

I got caught out gigging on Friday and the battery ran out mid evening and then I had a few too many shandies and it was saturday evening by the time I got all my gear home! I should of pulled the battery out when it died, I didn't think about the residual drain.:banghead:

I've over discharged a 4 pack lipo cell before, took it apart and charged each cell individually before reassembling the pack and balance charged it before reuse. It is now just as good as it was, seems together the pack wasn't recharging as the pack was below about 6V but individual cells were all over 3V (I did check their voltages at the time, but forgotten exactly what the actual numbers were ) I now build the packs with a square of fibreglass with slots cut into it for the lipo's contacts as this reduces the strains on their flimsy contacts if I need to take apart the pack.

Just thought of something.that may be of use, liquid electrical tape..
Could be handy with the mosfet etc maybe? :)

Like the new vent hole look could you tell me if you know
What's the difference in a 1590A and 1590B I take it it's the size but what's the difference in size it it is Raguri ?? BaDaBooM ??

Good call!
Liquid tape is brilliant stuff, I use it on my FET builds for those really awkward connections you just can't get heat shrink onto. Also really good for just tidying up those little bit's of expose metal etc. Does take a few coats though and goes everywhere if you apply too much!

Chegs- good thought on recovering cells, I just checked my battery though and it's reading 4v so that's definitely dead!

Its expensive, bet high temp gasket silicone would the job.

One bottle will last ages, in fact it will probably have gone off before it's used up for what we need.

Gasket silicon would be good, also not particularly cheap and goes off quicker in tube once open, I have only seen it in red and clear so doesn't look the best. It also doesn't run, it's quite handy with the liquid stuff being so fluid making it possible to drop a bit on and let it run down/ under connection. JMHO.

Just a thought, been looking again at your build. How are you going to charge the battery? It looks like you are soldering the battery directly to the mosfet, I may be wrong but I don't think you can charge through the balance plug? Normally this is just for cell monitoring.

Thought I would mention it, tell me to piss off if I am getting annoying! ;)

Most half decent chargers do let you charge through the balance plug but limit the power, but, since I'm used to waiting two hours got a 18650 to charge... I don't mind. Haha

Nice one, I didn't know that! I am still getting to grips with my HK6 and never had a LiPo charger before this one so I am still learning.
You guys are one step ahead as usual!

I wasn't trying to pick fault BTW. I find it useful getting feedback and suggestions from you guys, I hope my comments are useful too.
