Less of a request for a specific type of RBA, more of an explanation required as to what the fook they are and what the benefits are.

I realise a lot of people will say how easy it is to make your own wicks and coils, but pretend I am a proper spazz when it comes to such things (shouldn't be too much of a leap of faith)

What is the difference between a dripping atty and a tank atty? And why are so many of them so bloody big?

I feel I am missing out on potential shinyness, which saddens me, but seems like it may be an awful lot of work for someone with no DIY/electronics skills whatsoever.

Educate me please people :D

Lol, I cant educate you, there are plenty of other people on this forum, who have a damn site more experience and knowledge than me, and have tried all the different types of aspects when it comes to vaping, that will answer this better. However, I can advise of my experiences!

Along this vaping journey, I do want to experiment and try all different types of vaping, and try all the different types of administering the nicotine orally. I started on CE4's, moved to Mini Novas and then onto a AGA-T. My preference is AGA-T outstrips the others 10 fold.

The crackle you get when you push that button, on a SS wick, means only one thing, and explosion of flavour in your mouth.

There are 2 'camps' those who prefer drip atties and those who prefer tank atties. I fall into the latter, because whilst I have not enjoyed using a dripping one, the thought of having to add juice every 30 minutes or so, to be rather cumbersome. However, I understand the benefits, that flavour delivery is supposed to be better and you can change flavours with much more ease on a drip atty.

As for re-wicking them, trust me, if I can do it, anyone can!!! There are plenty of reviews out there, and I used a review from Todd on doing a SS wick, and it worked perfectly. Again, its down to choice. Yeah, I was apprehensive to start with, but it is straight forward and the sense of achievement afterwards is amazing. I will be purchasing and IGO-L this week to try and who knows, my opinion might change!!!

I know it doesnt answer your question, but I hope that it gives you the inspiration to try!

Cheers mate

Any knowledge is infinitely more than I currently possess :D

With regards to coiling... what is this gubbins about oxidizing? Does it literally just mean you have to leave it out in the air for a bit before drowning it in juicy goodness?

And almost every vendor effectively says "not for numpties, and make sure you test before using."

How do you go about testing, I use a tesla, would it be as simple as sticking it on and pressing the resistance check button?

Cheers :D

No, oxidizing involves burning the wick to within an inch of its life, lol. Below is the tutorial I used: -

I do recommend the quenching too!! I originally used a gas hob to burn it, but have now bought a blow torch.

I would never recommend putting an untested coil on top of a PV device to check the resistance. Buy a multimeter, they are pennies on Ebay, and check through this first.

The suppliers put that warning up, as if the wick touches metal parts of the tank, you have a small possibility of shorting out your PV device. Its akin to if you use a lightswitch with wet hands, you run the risk of electrocution.

To me, its all about, check, check and double check, but trust me the end result is worth it.

This forum is excellent too, as I had an issue with hotspots when I first did a SS wick, within 2 minutes of posting, I was referred to the wiki on here, and problem was resolved. So make sure when you attempt, you are logged on here.

It is straight forward when you get used to it, and it might look daunting, but it isnt, honest. :)

Thanks buddy :D

Cost wise, does it work out cheaper?

As at a quid a carto, it seems like a ball ache :D:D

Hell yeah, it works out cheaper. I am finding that a SS wick will last about 2-3 weeks. I can get 10 wicks out of a SS mesh 400 sheet, that costs £2.40 per sheet, and 2 meters of Kanthal Wire (0.2mm) costs £0.96 so it works out at 33.6p per wicking!! Also, its not just about cost, but flavour/throat hit delivery :)

Dont get me wrong, I purchase Vivi Nova heads at £1.85 a pop, last a week if I am lucky, and always carry one, just incase it goes at work, just so easy to change over, but the 2 really dont compare.

Okey cokey... cheers chap.

Will have to have a ponder, and see whether it looks complicated on a couple of vids, as like I same, i am a proper f-tard when it comes to this sort of thing :D

(have to find someone local to do me a job lot :D)
