Rebuilding my own coils

yeah the ohm tester on the mvp2 is tip top i tried my coil the other day was 0.2 on both the mvp and my sigelei ohm checker it wont fire under 1.2 but can still check the resistance below that

I don't know how accurate the Ohm meter is on the MVP, but this is what I use for my coils (I've only just started too). I got my supplies from stealthvape - excellent service imho. I bought the sample kanthal A1 pack so I could experiment with different diameter wire (2 metres of .15mm , .20mm, .25mm) - thicker wire has lower resistance btw (yes, I had forgot this when I made my first coil!).

By the way, the MVP is rated as follows:

6 to 11 Watts
3.3 to 5 Volts
3.5 Amps

MVP v2 is a great device imho :)

Thanks guys, well that has saved me a lot of trouble, just cancelled my order for the OHM reader as it seems the MVP v2 does everything :)

Just been watching a few tutorials on building the coils on the IGO-L's and it looks pretty straight forward.
I watched 5 or 6 different videos and it seems everyone has a different technique for looping the wick. Some just use one loop, some fold it 4 times before wrapping the kanthal, i guess it's just trial and error really.
What method have you guys been going with?
I can't wait to try this out when it all arrives next week! I've also got 3 different juices coming from Nicoticket in the US.

any one tried their juice?

Cheers

My preference for IGO L is to double the 2mm wick and wrap .2 Kanthol 5 times for 1.5 ohms. Sit the coil in the posts then cut the loop you have. Cut the top length of wick just a couple of mm from end of coil, then push all rest of bottom wick into bottom of IGO. Take a look at link below.

Another vote for stealthvape. I use 3mm wick and .25 wire

When I started, the same journey your on now, I ordered 2mm silica wick with 32 gauge kanthal. I was aiming for around 2.2ohms at the time.

I've since changed things slightly and now use 28 gauge Kanthal using cotton for wicks. Great vape and cheap as chips to rebuilt regularly.

If you haven't got one, get yourself a ohm checker. I use the one on my vamo/zmax but I'm looking at getting a separate ohm checker.

I've made a few coils now and are gradually getting better. When coiling my dripper I use a thick needle to support the wick while I wrap the coil around it, but I don't remove the needle after the coil is finished. I leave it in place while I attach each end of the coil to the posts - this keeps everything nice and neat, and I can gently twist the needle to align the whole coil after it is attached to my dripper. Works great for a beginner coiler :)
