Recommend me some wire

You are making quitting smoking far harder than it needs to be by trying to get your head around coil-building at the same time. Please consider a sub ohm tank like the Freemax Mesh Pro to get you started. You screw the coil in the same way you do a lightbulb - easy. It’s a very highly rated sub ohm tank, very good flavour and clouds, and is perfect for high VG liquids :)

Hey mate, the resson I'm choosing to build my own is 2 fold really....it's so I know exactly what metals are in there as personal preference I dont want nickel or stainless steel so il be sure it's just kanthal. And also because I feel like building the coils could be somewhat enjoyable too mate

You do get a sense of pride first time you wrap a coil and it actually works.

Saves you money too!

If you want 0.4 in a dual coil setup with kanthal then I'd recommend you get some of the flat kanthal wire on the site you're looking at 25awg will need around 7 wraps on each coil to get to 0.4 in total and you can still use a jig with it, a wee bit trickier but worth it for the extra vapour the flat wire will give you.

Stainless Steel 316L is a very safe material, you aren't melting it and inhaling the fumes.... and if you were then, iron, chromium and aluminum won't do you any good either. If you are going to make a choice about wire then please make an informed choice not just arbitrarily decide than one is safer than the other.

At the moment you are smoking, which is actually harming you.

To quote the great Tubby.

"At vaping temperatures there are no significant risks involved with any of the common vaping wires and anyone who says differently probably doesn't understand the Physics and Chemistry behind vaping."

Unless you've been tested and have a proven problem with Nickel (which isn't going to magically leak out of the alloy anyway) then this is nonsense. You could just as easily have a reaction to any of the metals in Kanthal surely?

Yeh no doubt that once I get the hang of it would save me money....some shops charge lile 6-7 pound just for 2 but a whole reel is less than a fiver

I fid see the glad stuff bro but I think I just ordered round...why is flat better bro? Not saying it's not better but so I can learn

It might not be better for some people but I like it more myself. I use 25awg Ni80 flat wire for my builds. It's pretty much the same as the round wire but because it's flattened it has a bigger surface area for the juice to come in contact with and thus produces more vapour at the same wire gauge. So really just the same resistance with the same amount of wraps but gives more vapour and flavour.

Hey man I honestly do appreciate your opinion and I'm sure it's not intended tjat way but you come over a little annoyed. as I'm not a expert at chemistry my decision is based purely off what information I can find from others experiences and opinions and from what I can find nickel and SS are the only ones anyone has had an issue with. This is not to say that nickel and ss are unsafe and I've never called it unsafe either but to just avoid even the chance (no matter how slight that may be) I just preferred to go with kanthal mate.

I looked at it the other way. If someone has an anxiety about certain wires, but not about others, then surely it makes sense for them to use the ones they're not anxious about? It doesn't actually matter how well-founded the anxiety might be, it's easier to make progress down the path of least ........ erm ........... resistance?

Rightly or wrongly, there is less concern about kanthal ..... so use kanthal?
