Regulated Squonker

As hodge said the rda is the key the hadaly with a 0.7 single coil at 20 watts gives a warm and tasty vape. Obviously on a mech it's going to come out at a similar wattage. I get pretty good battery life from this. I've got a wraith too if I want to push the wattage a bit or use an airy rda with some big low ohm coils. The problem you will find with that is if your out and about you will need a dual cell mod to get some decent battery life. I've been finding this so while I wait for the mod I want to be made I've picked up a dripbox 160 for a high watt beater.
I have to say though I get just as an enjoyable vape with the pico squeeze and an o atty with a 1.2 ohm single nichrome coil and a full day's vaping on one battery.

@KAB you need to understand oHm law as you will then know why your battery drains quickly. Ie lower coil build = a quicker drained battery.

A mech will give you battery drain and your vape will demish. A regulated mod will give pretty consistent power til your battery goes.

Sorry if I am saying anything you are already aware of.

The dripbox 160 is a good regulated mod, mine is teamed with a sapor.

I am also waiting on the Hcigar VT as I wanted a fancier looking mod but on a budget.

You will need to get a good dripper to sit on your new toy as that, together with a good build, is what makes for an enjoyable vape.

I really dont think my pico would fire with a 1.2 coil in, i tried dual 0.8 claptons and it didnt seem to give much of a hit at 0.4, a single at 0.36 is good - probably better than the dual 0.5 claptons i have in at moment. I have some nichrome 26 gauge i could try a single 0.7 (possibly 8 wraps round a 3mm bit?), and see if it fires any better than previous higher resistance coils with the different wire? Appreciate it will come out at a similar wattage - but when using lower resistance builds, which come out at a higher wattage, once the battery starts to drain the wattage also goes down with it. My understanding is a regulated device with always provide the wattage set on the mod?

@KAB - Morning.

Righty sparky: First off, what wire were the Claptons made of that you were putting in? Kanth Claptons are not a good idea for a mech. Claptons unless made from minimal SS are generally pointless on a mech as there is way too much metal to heat up. If you didn't realise that, you do now.
Next, you do know how a mech works? Every time you use it, every squeeze of the switch the available power decreases, thus the power output goes down. All you have is a battery, no gubbins or widgets, just a battery. Think of it like a water barrel for watering your garden, every time you fill the watering can there is less water available, until you refill the barrel.

Will be well worth your time using a lower resistance wire like the Nichrome the now. dual coil 6/7 wraps and a 2.5mm inner should be useful and you should get a fair few hours of tooting.
I had my Dripbox with me on saturday and got thro' all day without a battery change. I had a single 0.45 ohm coil in the Hadaly and had plenty tasty vape.

Aye, yir right a regulated gadget will keep a certain set power output until the cells lose charge, so for you I think a chipped thingy would be peachy and mostly what you are after. The V2 dripbox could be a useful investment but do get a good atty to go with it as the one that comes with it it beyond gash. From fast tech you can get a lovely Hadlay clone for ~£6 for flavour and for the same price a BF Kennedy for cloudy days.

Yeah - they were kanthal, maybe thats why then! However, i spoke to a few people in shops who said they should be fine! Obviously not! I'll try some nichromes and see how that fairs up! Cheers.

Sorry - i replied to the post below you before seeing yours! Yep, that was exactly my thoughts on the mech v regulated. Cheers!

Forgot to add @EmberSewerRat is it the kennedy v5 you recommend?

https://www.fasttech.com/p/6226300 try that thing....

I'm quite lucky with vape shops by me. They ask you what kit you are using then recommend coils from that.
Have a search for the squonk kit list on fast tech and you'll get a whole new shopping list....... am NOT responsible for your failing bank balance after that.

Is the 24mm good for the hcigar inbox?
I'm pretty sure if you buy the kit you get the Maze 24mm atty with it, so that should imply it's a yes [emoji4]

I don't have it myself mind, so might just be sticking my nose in for no good reason [emoji51]
