How far away do you have it from the airhole at the moment? What sort of wattage are you running at?

Uhh, I don't have an exact answer, but there's 5 tight wraps on the coil, and the height from the airhole is about from the first wrap to the 3rd, if that makes sense? And I'm running 7 watts, any higher and it burns, somehow

Can you take some good close up pics so we can see whats going on, you should be able to wind a KFL / R91 up to 15 watts easily without burning. You can go higher, but things get a bit warm then.

I used to have this problem. I used to put the coil wire through the posts instead of around the screw head which gave me huge heat spots on the coil. Since I change this I have had no problems.

I don't run my builds at 1.2ohm anywhere near as high or I find they taste burnt to me.... could just be that you are particularly sensitive to that slight tatse from the wick and coil or juice giving a chemical reaction to the heat as opposed to them actually burning. .. also I think gauge of wire can make a difference. .. I use thinner resistance wire as I find it easier to work with but that means it can take less heat I think. ..
