Do not know about the UK, but in the US big pharma money on lobbying and political contributions is 10 times higher than tobacco.

Juul is partly owned by altria. I think @Richard D might be right.

I do wonder if it wasn't for the market dominance of Juul (largely tobacco company owned) in the US whether there would be less opposition. The tobacco companies don't exactly have a squeaky clean history. Some of it is also clearly an attack on the FDA too... Of course a lot of the money for the anti-vape lobby comes from the makers of Nicotine gum... It's a murky business.

Plus I read somewhere that their stats show youth cig use going down, whilst e-cig use is going up very fast. That's one of the reasons it's been targeted I believe.

What I was getting at was, a gun won't kill you, a person has to use it. Nit picking maybe but I just don't like that phrase.
