Hi,
I bought a scar as my first dripper about a month ago, it's been sitting in my drawer since arriving, but today after watching YouTube have decided to have a go at my first build.
it has three posts so I thought I'd try a duel coil build.
i did 7 wraps of kanthol for each coil and used 2 doubled over pieces of silica wick.
put it on my SVD and it runs at 1.2 ohms.
ive put a few drips of my favorite juice kraken dodging strawberry on, and all I can say is wow!
have been using a nautilus with the same juice what a difference in taste the scar produces.
i was unsure what wattage to put it up to as some videos run it really high, I've gone up to 11w, and it seems fine. Is this the right sort of wattage?
im saving for a kayfun and think until I get one I will be using this.

If it works & tastes good, you're on it. Just watch that you keep it above 1 ohm for now, to be safe. it's a learning curve, one which i am on but it's not rocket science so don't be fazed by it. You'll know if you fire it too hot...You'll just know !

When you're able to start running sub-ohms,most find it makes the vape taste to warm or burnt. This is where getting much more air into the device becomes important.I have a dual-coil in my W3 running at 0.5 ohms and the stock double air holes are just about enough. With all 4 coils installed and run at 0.2 ohms, the four large slots produce huge clouds of vapour but uses the dripped juice up so quickly that a wick such as Voodoo 4 mm is the only type I'll use(holds loads of juice)and even then,I can get fed-up of having to add more juice every 3rd vape. With the dual-coil & Voodoo 4mm,I can get nearly an hour of vaping from the Voodoo. :P

I wasn't sure what ohms I was going to get, was hoping for about 1.5, but it ended up at 1.2.
to get it up a bit do I just give the coil another wrap?
i was well pleased with the first attempt tho.

i bought today a scar rda as well. I like how it looks and it seems that it is not difficult to build. I will try on the next days.

I've hopefully got one coming today too (just as a stop gap whilst I save up for a posh dripper!). I've not made dual coils before and am not interested in sub ohming. Not sure whether to try it with a single coil or whether to just jump right in :)

I find its best just jump right in.
That's my instinct too! It's not like I haven't been building single coils for long enough to work out the wraps needed to get the 1.6 that seems to be my sweet spot (2x3.6 right?).
