Single coil builds for mech squonker?

Evening all, I'm considering switching to a single coil atty on my mech squonker for battery longevity whilst at work primarily. I currently use a pulse 24 with brochrome, 5 wraps, 3mm id when tends to come out about .17/18 and am more than happy with vapour production and flavour. If I was to try and hit my target resistance in single it would be about 2 wraps or 1.5.
Using single do people tend to use flaptons, claptons or aliens? What would people recommend?

Why do you need to hit your target resistance?
I use dual coils at 0.16 and single coils at 0.32
I get great flavour from my single builds using flat ni80 wire. No fancy builds.
Not using a mech though.

Get a different gauge wire to get the same result.

A single coil at the same resistance as your dual coil builds won't give you any better battery life if that's the only reason you want to try it @TieDyeGuy [emoji53]

If you want to use that resistance I'm afraid the only answers would be to carry more spare cells or use a dual cell (parallel if mech) mod.

Thanks for all your advice. @cindy99 that makes total sense, feel a tad daft!
Will try increasing the resistance on my single coil atty when it arrives and continue with the brochrome as @bobsyeruncle suggests.
