What's new

Snapdragon v1.5

It's a tricky chunt to build alright, I usually get the Mrs to help out with an extra hand. How you finding the vape?

Velocity posts already ordered. Should have got them in the first place.

My build in it is what I put in everything on a mech (2x 0.5 mm X 2.5 mm X 7 wraps) ~ 0.3 ohm.

Vape is certainly tasty and the Vapour seems quite dense which is nice (can't figure out why it's dense or whether I'm imagining it).

We're currently on a Paps 4 with an HE2 about 4.0 V and it's good, not sure it's £85 of good though. Oh any my inside leg is 33"

I might get a cloud cap but that might be too airy (doesn't look to be any adjustment in it other than what's under the coils.

Stick a couple of claptons in there, the reduced chamber and airflow directly under the could give the flavour I think

I could barely get the clamps to keep hold of 0.5 mm Kanthal - don't fancy my chances with Claptons (until the velocity posts turn up).

Has anyone got the cloud cap? What's the score with them?

Velocity posts are a great addition, so much easier!

Clapton's will fit,.I'll bring some wire withe on Monday, its the prebuilt Clapton wire and quite thin. I had some in before the velocity posts arrived. Now have fused Clapton's :)

It was a slow burner for me which initially had me kicking myself for spending £60 second hand on; but spending time with it let me appreciate how much flavour it pulls out compared to anything else I own. I struggled with it on a mech as I prefer a bit of oomph, but dual parallel 0.32mm at 0.3 was good on the Paps, maybe even a touch rowdy. Definitely try dual 0.4mm on a regulated device, comes to life at a bit more than a mech can provide IMO.

If it transpires it's not for you then you'll lose little on it, seems your fairly committed by buying the velocity style posts though, I'll order a set next week. Have to say I'm disappointed that Eden mods didn't include the velocity posts as standard on the latest batch.

Built. What a fucker of a job that is. Velocity posts are in order I think.

Yep, I had a bugger of a job building with the standard posts, v posts make it so much easier.

I vaped it at higher resistance with the standard cap as well, 25-30W dual coil with two holes open generally.

Has anyone got the cloud cap? What's the score with them?

It's a cracking bit of kit, well machined and perfect fit. You're right, no adjustment for the air through the cap, I find it best with bottom airflow full open too. Needs some power though, I'm at 85W with it and it could still handle more I'm sure. Even at that it doesn't seem to get hot at all.

The bad thing is it will make you want another Snappy so you can have a standard setup and a cloudy setup on the go at the same time.

Agree with you there. I see no benefit of the standard posts over the v posts, apart from maybe bragging rights if you can manage to get a decent build in there with standard posts. Seems a bit grabby to me, making more by making you shell out for what should have come with it in the first place.

Replaced my posts with the velo ones without too many issues, build dual coils, popped on the cloud cap and yeah very nice. Except I noticed gappage which wasn't there before.

Stripped it down, single coil this time, original cap and yeah very nice but still gappage. However I rebuild the base , it's still there.

Annoying. Doesn't affect anything. No leaks. Just OCD. I've been fiddling with it for a couple of hours now so I'm not wasting more time and wire on it for now. Anyone else had this?

I think the smart money is on the "V2" shipping with velocity style posts.

(Maybe one day we'll call them something else - velocity style seems a bit cheesy but everyone knows what they are I guess).
