Sony VTC6 real or fakes?

I like supporting small retailers, after all it's someones business and they need our support. The money is not an issue to me.
All I read was that one guy insisted that his vtc4 batteries was fake, but refused to show any pictures. Everyone else seemed to speak positively of the vendor so I'm not gonna hang them out with names.

I'm gonna take Mooch's advice and keep an eye on them.
"If you are worried they might be fake then start slow, about 30W per battery (60W in a 2 battery mod, etc). If they run cool then keep increasing the power. They shouldn't get more than very warm even if chain vaping at 75W each (150W in a 2-battery mod, etc.). You can go higher, so much is determined by how you vape, but just don't let them get more than very warm and keep the wraps in perfect condition."
And
"The odds are good that those batteries are genuine.

I felt bad about pestering him since he probably get many requests every day, so I gave him a donation to show my support :)

Good advice from John, he is one of the best and most helpful people in the business.

It present some good pointers, but the vtc6 is a little bit different on the grooves compared to vtc5.
According to that link my vtc6 is fake because of the QR code being printed/burned as a neat square.

It serves as an aid but the only true way to know is testing, Easier to buy from reputable dealers. I only buy from Fogstar as they are genuine and were highly recommended to me by fellow apes.

Even in today's world word of mouth is still the best method of finding great service and quality genuine products.

Looks legit to me! Sometimes the warnings do go a little squiffy! Weight rarely tells me anything - I weigh more out of habit these days.

My mate got a pair of possible fake VTC6 batteries!
They looked very well wrapped, apart from some slight damage to the wrapping, and the green colour was slightly darker and smoother than mine.
I have taken a few pictures to compare with my own.

Fake one to the right.

As you can see, the grooves are clearly different from my own battery.

Both of his batteries had the same model and serial numbers, while my own has a longer number starting with a batch of 0s and differs from the other battery of mine. I have reasons to believe my serial number is longer than the usual VTC battery because they was made in Singapore instead of Tochigi or koriyama plant.
We noticed the same QR code printed on both fake batteries along with the model number being enlarged text.
We decided to investigate them further and unwrapped one of the fake ones.
Turned out it was only the QR code that was printed on the wrap, and the model number was on the battery itself. I believe this is the way Sony does it, could anyone here confirm? The insulator ring had been glued stuck.

Also the fake batteries didn't have these two marks on the positive terminal as demonstrated in the picture below. It is to my understanding that every VTC battery has these two marks.

They did have #3 pressed into the negative (bottom) terminal for some reason.

I'd like to hear if you guys have any input to come with, we're gonna ship the fakes for testing to see how they perform.

hi guys very pleased to meet you all... im bahhhh and i find myself in the same conondrum... could the batteries inside this box be fake?
They do look pretty good but i still have my doubts
I tried reading the qr code but only came up with a serial number and sony has nowhere to check those qr codes, which, would be a great idea and would avoid fake bats.
ok, so im sending you a link from a picture thats exactly the same that i bought but from other vendor:
