Spam...members please read

Spammers get in easy enough, we use RECAPTCHA (you know the wobbly letters and numbers for people to enter to verify they are real?) AND confirmation email. They work around those with either real people or automated programs.

The 1st five posts of any member are auto checked for spam, but some of them get through those checks as well since they've never been reported as spam, as soon as the post is reported as spam, it stays in the database for a full year. Then that spam information is used to prevent new users from repeating old spam. Now that we have reported some of the newer spammers posts, they shouldn't make it to the parts of the forum you see.

I am currently adding information to the Stop Forum Spam website as well, which helps other forums stay spam free. I hope the new software we should be installing soon will cut back on all the clicking and copying and pasting!

New auto checking system has been implemented at the behest of Kulr.
Looks like it should keep the forums a lot cleaner and save the mods some work

Yeah, the RSS feed updates like every 20 mins or so, if we don't catch the post it ends up on FB and twitter, I have since deleted them all!
