SS mesh wick

Well how else are you gonna deal with your work pc when it misbehaves?? Also blowtorches are an amazing way of disposing of all that unwanted or unfinished paperwork. :gunban:

:stop: wait........

Here it comes..........

:happybday: dude, thanks for getting me into 'vaping' :yourock:

Hope youve had a good 'un, you deserve it you old fart!!!

Thanks dude, suffering with a hangover right now, but I did not have one cigarette last night so I am really pleased with myself.

Well A week ago I placed an order with stealthvape for some wick and wire, when the order turned up there was also a piece of mesh with it, at the time I had no idea what it was. so after looking at getting the AGA-t+ and watching vids I then realized what the mesh was for.

I have not got the tank yet as I only ordered it yesterday but this morning I had a go at making a wick with the mesh and I think it went ok, here is a pic any criticism is welcome

A couple of question I have...

1. What grade mesh should I be using?

2. What wire works best?

3. what ohms should I be looking for?

4. can I test the ohms with a multi meter on the neg and positive posts of the AGA-t+?

Thanks

Questions 1-3 are down to preference. 400 mesh is the standard although some people like 325 for vg heavy stuff, I find the 400 is fine. Wire again is a tricky one. Personally I prefer kanthal .15 but I'd get something like this http://www.stealthvape.co.uk/rebuildable-supplies/kanthal-sample-pack so you can try and see which one suits you best. Ohms depends on your style too. I like somewhere around 1.9 to 2.4 but it's a bit hit and miss whether I get it. Even using exact lengths I still end up with totally different reading! I can't help with the meter I'm afraid as I use the one built into the device.
Oh and the wick looks fine :D

I can not wait to get the AGA-T+ and have a good play with making the wick for it, I was dubious about building wicks for my nova at first but I have now done 2 and both are fine.

A couple of question I have...

1. What grade mesh should I be using? 400 is fine a lot know use 500 as well

2. What wire works best? .20 seems to be a general one I twist wrap mine 4/5 wraps gives me 1.5OHM

3. what ohms should I be looking for? personal but nothing below 1ohm I have read general 1.4-1.7Ohm

4. can I test the ohms with a multi meter on the neg and positive posts of the AGA-t+? yip best way mate with a meter always use a meter B&Q do one for tenner

Thanks

sorry lazy this morning replies in yellow mate, key get your wick right and IMO your away coiling is easy

Thanks, I already have a meter, how many time do you burn the wick, the vid I watched suggested 3 times then douse in juice and burn it off.

my way but there are loads this just works for me mate

burn 3 times and dropping into water each time.
then boil it in a small pan of water (don't ask me where I read it was somewhere on a very very lage e-cig forum)
then juice burn 3 times
make sure the wick is not touching the bottom of the atty, on mine its a good 3-4mm off the base.

I could never get the cobra set up but on the Mod I use know piece of Pee mate

I spent about 2 hours last night making my first wick & coil on a DiD atomizer. I've watched lots of videos & read lots of tutorials so I thought I'd have a go with the sample I got with it.

I followed the burn 3 times & quench in water, followed by juice 3 times & burn ... Result was a good looking wick that fitted into my atomizer first time just nice.

I then saw todd's video about giving the wire a quick burn over with a lighter so I did that too. I then started to twist the wire around my wick 4 times before securing it to the top post. I checked it all over spaced out the coil evenly & dripped a little juice onto the coil & checked the Ohm's it came in at 1.5Ω

I thought this is great for a first attempt, I pulse fired it to check for hotspots & adjusted accordingly. Then just when all looked good the wire coil broke/burned through right between the top post & the wick ..... Any ideas why this might have happens cause I tried recoiling it again and the same thing happened although after each pulse burn my Ω's kept dropping

Ive got It down to 15mins start to finish now. At first it did take over a .hr on the cobra. Practice practice practice lol
