Alright Apes?
Been lurking for about a year now and now I decided to join.
I've been vaping for two years now, my vape journey has been one of constantly saying "I don't need that" and then jumping in head on and spending ridiculous amounts of time and money... I started with a carto which got me off the cigs instantly, kept it for 2 months or so and then tried a pre-TDP lemon tart in an expertly set up single coil flavour RDA... That moved me first into factory atties (Nautilus) and then swiftly into rebuildables even though I used to say "There's no way I will bother to wind my own coils and look into cottons", "The lowest setting in the Kayfun v5 is enough for me", "18W is enough", "As if I will ever bother to learn to build with mesh". Then got into mechs even though I vehemently believed that they don't give anything above a decent chip, but now I have more mechs than regulated mods (go figure right?)... Then I decided to try to make a juice from scratch because I couldn't find a juice that combined chocolate with tobacco to my tastes. Then started making my own wires (Ni80 26/40 fused claptons/flaptons). What the hell comes next? Vaping is cheaper than cigarettes, they said (well it was when I was with the Nautilus when 20 ml of juice and 2 factory heads would last me 2 weeks).
Reading this back I feel like I have vaping-related ADHD which is a stark opposite to my real life job (research) that needs me to be careful, collected, calm and organised. I guess the desire to research and optimise is the common thread.
I haven't managed to convince anyone to switch to vaping unfortunately, and don't advocate unless someone asks for info, but do like to troll and cloud out heated tobacco peddlers when they get persistent.
I am using both mechs and regulated mods (now primarily using a Kennedy vindicator and a venerable but still soldiering on Drag), DTL, RTAs (big lover of the Germanic varieties, mainly Taifuns and Corona V8) and DIYing for at least a year now (Hi Chefs's Flavours!). Now sort of getting into dripping, I never thought I'd like it - dripping not squonking because I can't stand how squonk mods look - but I do.
