It's so you can squeeze the coils whilst firing them, obviously using metal whilst firing will short.

I know you can stop firing then squeeze when hot but since getting ceramics I haven't looked back.

Great point.. hadn't thought of that!

Would you recommend rounded or pointed tweezers? I was looking at these from FT.

I have pointed and they are fine. Either will do the job
