TC on normal kanthal builds?

I'm quite a keen builder, yet I have only used Kanthal builds and generally around 0.5ohms. I now have a TC device (snow wold mini) I use goblin mini and Zephyrus v2 tanks. I can't go above say 26w with these as I get a burnt taste. I was wondering if I use TC it would be any different?

you can't use kanthal in tc, you need Ni, TI or SS, try adjusting your build/wicking

Well that cleared that one up pretty quick. Thank you. Is there a way of closing a thread to prevent me looking like an idiot? lol

Unfortunately there isn't, and you won't be the first or last person to ask this question - so don't worry about it...:D

It's a fair question. For TC, you need a wire that significantly changes resistance when heated (like Ni200, Ti, NiFe alloys or stainless steel). The mod measures the change in resistance as you fire the device and converts this into a temperature change. The problem with kanthal is that the increase in resistance when it is heated is almost zero - too small for current mod technology to measure accurately, so the device can't tell what the temperature is.

I might be wrong, but I don't think the snow wolf mini supports stainless steel, so if you want to try TC you'll have to get hold of some Ni200 (or better, NiFe30) for use in Ni mode, or use Ti (or NiFe48) in Ti mode. These wires shouldn't be used in normal power mode, only TC mode.
