Temp control, how often do you rebuild?

I do love temp control but I'm finding that the slightest imperfection in the coil and it's rebuild time. That means even the slightest build up throws the sensors out. I'm rebuilding at best every other day at the moment and often it is a daily job. I don't mind as I like fresh coils but it does seem to be a little excessive. So how often is every one else rebuilding?

I found it waaaay to fiddly/temperamental so i'm sticking to pre-built Subtank and Mega Tank heads for now.

That is what is so annoying. All this regular maintenance and setting up but the vape is just so good. I get the best flavour I've ever had out of vaping, if it wasn't so damn good I'd go back to kanthal!

Yerz doin it wrong den...

I'm rebuilding about once every two or three weeks, rewicking every day or two depending on juice - Have you watched that build tutorial, I slaved over a hot editing program for hours to bring that thing into being...:D

Yep, watched it. I use .28 stealthvape ni200, single coil, 10-11 wraps microcoil and it is blooming lovely. Tried different amounts of wick incase it was choking/not getting enough contact. Nothing seems to last. I've tried spaced coils too. One good day and from then on, it is a battle against the dreaded temperature protected. Damn it for being such a good vape!

Oh and I run it at 15w, temp starts out limited to 400 and my coils are between .13 and .16 depending on whether I've go 10 or 11 wraps :)

That sounds more like wicking problems, pop the wick out, turn TC off and pulse it, you should be able to see if you're getting even heating of the coil and if you get it to the point where you can just see a soft red glow you can dry burn all the gunk off without the coil falling to bits. Thats what I do. If I mess up when rewicking I'll get a cold weak vape and it will keep throwing temp protect or dry coil messages. It usually means you wick is too thick or it's twisted around so that juice doesnt flow along it easily. What atty are you using?

Yep, tried every thickness of sick known to man (muji and bacon). I've been using my heron (didn't like the airflow as it seemed too tight), subtank and now squape rs with B deck. The squape is by far the nicest vape but still the same problem.

There's your Problem... Use cotton not sick!... sFun_nahnahna.gif,

If it's not thickness try to make sure the wick doesnt make any sharp turns or get pulled tight at corners...

Mr Engineer sir, you da man!
Been meaning to drop you a message to say thanks for the video.
Watched it twice then recoiled my mutation x v4 last night and it vapes, in my opinion, better than with Kanthal.
I have managed some really good nickle builds but sometime took a few build to get there. I think with your method of heating the coil so it stretches and pulling it tight again you can't go wrong.
Also your tips on wicking really helped. Used to get the occasional cold weak vape but have managed to properly wick my lemo 2 and kayfun monster now.
Thank you sir!
