What's new

The DF at it again!

Yeah saw this in this thread today, as a newcomer I'm still digesting both sides of the argument on e-cigs, but articles like this just make me face-palm. The part about the 'depth of inhalation' just left me particularly puzzled.

And most of the chemicals are already given in medications anyway

Given the amount of anti vaping propaganda that appears in that obnoxious rag, I wonder if the owners have a lot of money invested in pharma and/or tobacco.

I'm a 20 year + smoker - hate the things. Vaping has already helped me cut down, and maybe one day give up. Regarding the science of vaping, the only question I have is too do with the act of burning the chemicals in e-cigs. I honestly don't know enough about chemistry to know for sure how safe they are. But I know analogs are dangerous, yet legal. I have no doubt this whole debate comes down to money: taxation, tobacco companies protecting their profits, political corruption, the norm really lol I think the one thing that can save vaping is scientific analysis and a mature enthusiast culture to educate the masses.

Which reporter's child wrote this rubbish? Header bullet point reads...
"E-cigarettes are increasing no longer being seen as just a healthier alternative to cigarettes for people who are already addicted to nicotine"
...that's not even a sentence for Christ's sake! If you're going to continually spout lies, at least click the spell-check button to add a modicum of credibility!

"Depth of inhalation" its common knowledge men (sorry guys) inhale deeper into their lungs when using tobacco smoking than females. Which is why lung cancer surgeons say its harder to treat / cure males than females.

I dont know about anyone else but i vape the way i used to smoke. I dont take deeper into my lungs. And i spose to a certain extent i take less into my lungs as i hold the flavour in my mouth before inhaling.

Shame we, as a collective, could not offer our services to the scientists to monitor / watch what we do and the effects so they can get proper, informed and honest results.*

*honest results but twisted for the outcome wanted i guess. Damn it, i took the paranoia pill

We dont know what, if any, long term effects there will be, but mine will always be as a result of previously smoking / family genetics / booze / prescribed medication / over the counter meds / food / driving / ozone / blackhole.....

Cigs are killers, admittedly some people dont get cancer and die from smoking, just live to a ripe 95+ years, would they have lived longer if yhey didnt smoke? Would they want to seeing how the world is now?
- ban cigs

Drinking, screws your liver up etc, specially alcoholics, again another one to ban?

Cars, omg so much crap is spewed out when driving. Ban them. Its bad for the air that we breathe

Road works, you telling me when they lay the tar / asphalt that shite isnt getting on your skin / into your lungs.....feels like it does

Pain killers, well a lot of them are habbit forming.

OH takes anti epilepsy meds, warning may / high risk screw your liver up....still get prescribed

The list is endless. But by chosing to get up every day and leave the comfort of my house and all the bad things (microwave / tv / electric / gas) i accept the risk to myself that harm may, or may not, come to me when i close that do behind me. That is my decision, i decide if i want to live that day.
All i can do is take care cause theres a lot of dickheads in the big bad world :D

(was only meant to be a quick post....but i feel better now its off my chest)

Reading the Daily Mail may cause strokes and heart desease. Over the past year, literally hundreds of people have died within days of reading the Mail. Unnamed experts report that dozens of Mail readers have also caught colds and been involved in car accidents. Sources are worried that children, as young as 10, could be in those cars. A leading doctor from the WHO may have stated that even being in the same room as a copy of the mail could cause erectile disfunction.
