the end of dodgy chinese fakes? hope so!!

and by banning the clones. that would be another nail in the coffin for those wanting to quit smoking and move onto vaping as it would essentially price people out, those who cant afford "originals" because you have to look at not just the high end mechs but the gazillion ego knock offs leaving us with custom out of price for most mechs or cigalikes. its just a backdoor move to put an end to ecigs for everyone. juices will be next in line of fire

Aimed at people who import fake Nike trainers and lacoste clobber by the container-full

Good luck to the person trying to work out if something is fake or not.

Maybe they'll employ loads of people like Sam to work in customs - but then who champion genuine products on here?

Id like to point out that not all fakes are dodgy. Nem/Chi clones? Spot on.

Kanger and Vision EGO batteries? Essentially clones of the original and are good quality...

Not everything out of China is bad.

Just about *everything* is made in China. The high quality USB plug adapters we sell. Designed in Germany, bought from the UK, made in China. (made to a high standard and properly tested) A lot of stuff coming out of China is good quality.

I can't see how they're going to enforce something like this. While it's not aimed at e-cigs if it stops fakes then it's a good thing. It smells like a 'something politicians can point to' kind of measure and not a 'going to make an iota of difference in the real world' kind of measure. The only reason the government cares about fake stuff is that typically they don't get any tax revenue from them.

Fake = looks identical to the real thing has same logo/branding

Clone = looks similar to the real thing but has different logo/branding

Fakes bad, clones good is basically how I see things.

No chance of enforcing this , they even make fake cars for christs sake , chinese gov won't enforce anything ,

Long live the clone ......

I was looking forward to the day where bits of pipe would cost £2,000 per metre.
Now you realists have spoiled it for me! :p

got to leave it for another week to steep but its amazing
xxx

I mean, how exactly would a bog standard customs worker actually have the knowledge to know what's a clone and what isn't when it comes to mechs?

And I've come across nothing 'dodgy' about my clones

Anyone else getting mental images of Sam sniffing packages on a conveyer belt?;-)
