What's new

The Flavorah Tobacco Lounge

1st bottle 2 drops
2nd bottle 4 drops
3rd bottle 6 drops
4th bottle 8 drops
5th bottle 10 drops

Once I mix my flavors with my base I give it 3 days before testing anything.

yeah, no.. I don't have that much time on my hands.

............................and I've just wasted how much VG/PG/Nic, just to test a flavour solo?

SmokeyBlue is a commercial mixer with a vast one shot range.
She has an affiliate program with FLV so wouldn't surprise me if her concentrate outlay is very small if any cost to her at all.
I work and get tied up with the mundane weekend and weekday evening jobs so couldn't spare the time like most mixers do.
TBH I'm getting fatigued with the amount i currently do which is why I'm guessing its going to take me a while to get a handle on these.

right, ok that makes sense ... :)

Yeah, to be honest as long as I've got something I can enjoy vaping... I'm fine too.

Cured at 1%, (was meant to be lower, bloody scales).

The old batch 07/04/2017: mild pepper, but, perhaps, in a good way. Some spice, but it's not mutantly over powering, like some of the pack. Dry, some ash, sweetish, mild savoury, maybe some leather, not that I've ever eaten leather.

The new stuff: as above, no bacon or other strong savoury.

@Simon G @andi52 @StrawberryRipple

have a look at this, it’s quite interesting. her method for testing them is to start with a drop in a 30ml bottle and increase until you can taste it. let me know if you can see the document, not sure how these links work...

it’s from this blog.

Got it thanks, ha ha, mediafire, I'm surprised they're still going, I remember them well, from days long past :D

she doesn’t go over 0.6% with any of the tobaccos and some as low as 0.2%.

it makes sense, the idea of starting with 1 or 2 drops in 30ml and continue from there. you then experience the concentrate at each stage until you reach the point that it tastes right. when you go over the optimal concentration and notice flavour distortion and loss, then drop it back and you will have your sweet point

i’m going to dilute the arabian i mixed at 0.5, by half, and see how it works.
Blimey, one drop in 10 ml maybe, Interesting though, but I'm not that dedicated

@Simon G @StrawberryRipple i wouldn’t go to the effort she does either but it’s the principle that’s important, so you can understand the flavour it’s important to start low and work from there. @Rickster , who likes a strong blend, says 0.15 red burley in a mix, for example.

i just think starting too high seems wasteful and risks missing what these flavours are all about.

but each to their own. :)

Start low for sure, in my case 0.25 up to 1%, measuring/ weighing 0.25 in a 10ml bottle is a faff, i was using 30ml bottles but i may not get through them. I think drops is the way to go, I'll weigh off 10 drops or so and calculate it, up or down, from there. I remember 3 or 4 years ago, someone, really took the piss (of me), for mixing by drops - the worm has turned :D

It's a yeah and a no from me.

1: everyone should use whatever methods suit them.
2: they are wrong about the max 1.4% FLV blueberry muffin, you can stop there and enjoy the nice blueberry but for the muffin to come though at all you can take it much higher.
3: you might think one drop tastes in a 30ml good on it's own but try adding that 1 drop into a mix of tobaccos and you probably won't even taste it.
4: I think it really depends what you are trying to find out, I'm trying this classic now at 1%, it 's clearly too high. I use 20ml bottles, I can easily add some more vg/pg and make it 0.5% ... I wanted to know what happens when you mix it higher. What did I waste? a few drops to learn a valuable thing about this concentrate.
5: I don't think there's anything important there for your average mixer, just a load of finicky and fussy procedures.
6: I think I'll stick with the Flavorah numbers as starting points, which seem a little lower than I prefer anyway.
7: I'm missing nothing.
