The subtle differences air holes not the build make to a good vape.

Well thats sounding like a goody for you @eyeball kid , and i instantly thought, 'why don't i buy one to try it?' Then i thought i've got more attys here than i can shake a stick at already. I'm personally vaping gear sick.
Now heres a more subtle question a true or false question for you all.
Referring to an rta/rba
How much you open the juice control has as much effect on your vape experience as the air flow hole you choose?( I'm not talking about wicking effect, i'm talking about resistance when inhaling and how it changes lets say the spectrum of the draw.)
True or false for any of you?
I actually can't really answer that. When I looked at all my tanks, and even pulled a few old friends out of a drawer ....... I realised I only possess one tank with any form of juice control - a couple of clone KF Mini V3s and a V5+. The thing I liked least about those (and I love them, Mini is a perfect size for an e-pipe stem) ..... yep ..... you guessed it .... was the faff of the juice control ......... ;)

Everything else I like and use depends on wicking - (mostly clones) the Berserker Mini, Pocket, Doggystyled, Pico, Corolla, Fodi F2, Ruzgar .... and it's a while since I used it (must revisit) but the old KF Lite+ I seem to remember is the same.

@Michaeltoo , yes I’m finding that my pocket clone is giving me really outstanding flavour. It’s honestly up there and possibly better than I am getting from my calixes and heron clone, which is saying a lot. I’m not saying that it’s a better vaping experience as it’s not, I find the airflow a bit turbulent, noisy and slightly harsh but from the point of view of flavour alone, that’s what’s keeping me picking it up. It really is outstanding and side by side with my favourite tanks I am noticing flavour notes that the others don’t allow me to detect.

I’m not sure if I’ve just been lucky with the way I’ve been building and wicking it. Maybe @Crewella could comment on it as I know she’s been enjoying it but hasn’t enthused about the flavour production the way I have.

I was intrigued by the Pocket when I saw the SXK clone on Fasttech and ordered one, and the ST one from Gearbest. My intention was to compare and have a play. Only the ST one arrived and, to be honest, I chucked a build in it, stuck one of my regular juices in it, loved the vape ....... and it's been in daily use ever since. Because the SXK one never turned up (I have another on the way) I've actually never gotten around to investigating it further. As someone who loved the original Pico but wasn't too keen on all the plastic therein (similar feelings about the Doggystyleds), it's the answer to a lot of my prayers and immediately delivered a very similar vape. It IS a fiddly build, like the Pico was, but once built it worked perfectly. I will investigate its possibilities properly when the SXK arrives (so I don't have the risk of one out of daily action!) and add to the Pocket thread. :)

Stay lucky zouzou, stay lucky, you've hit on a great set up, that others when given the pocket rta spend hours trying to get, Iain't seen the pocket thread but it would be worth posting just to give others an idea i'd have thought. I recall on another thread a member would write his coils size, wire gauge how many coils, for every build he did, just so he'd stay lucky :-)

My build was my usual, 28AWG kanthal on a 2.5mm ID, 6/7 wraps coming out around 1.3 ohms.

I got off to a terrible start with it as well, nightmare trying to build it then the first build leaked straight out the air holes and the second was dry hit city. Third time lucky for me with it!

You probably had a tougher time than I because you'd never had a Pico. The deck and wicking are very similar.

ADDED: except the bloody screws on the Pocket are even fiddlier! :D

Well, I think I hold my purchase until you truly determine which is better: ST vs SXK.
Anyone willing to post a little wicking/building tutorial vid?
We could do it for our favorite MTL tanks.
Let's make this MTL sub-section legendary people! :2thumbsup:

My filming capabilities are abysmal ..... but I can take step-by-step pics. And will do. :)

Hey @gaart Until @Crewella posts some piccys, heres a vid about it. Its nice, no verbal just kind of up market elevator music. But just by watching it those grub screws are not the most user friendly for builders. I can see it slipping out when trying to gain purchase on the wire But it was interesting to see the person adjusting the coil spaces without the mandrel. The reward though seems to be well worth it after the comments from zouzounaki and crewella.
vid here

have fun
