The Sun has a dig at vaping again

I think you attribute too much credit @Simon G . I think it’s an irresponsible and cynical cash grab. They think they’ll sell more if they dress it up in infantile packaging.

It doesn’t make sense otherwise. It’s not much of a position of principle to take a stand on. “I’ll put my nicotine products in as infantile packaging as I want, try and stop me! I’m taking a stand!!!”

Speaking of which did you see the new wismec pod system?

It's all about trying to stand out from the crowd in the vape shop.....when the whole place looks like a comic, that's difficult.

lol, me too .... I was just giving them the benefit of the doubt for a minute to answer Crewella's point.

All these companies we are talking about do what they do to sell e-liquid and make money, that's not even a debate.

considering it seems to draw as much negative response as positive I can only presume it's done on purpose to create discussion and controversy.

I think there's 3 positions you can take

You think manufacturers should be able to put anything they want on the boxes and labels
You think there's a line somewhere
You think all e-liquid should be sold in pain boxes

I think most people would agree that manufacturers should be in position 2, but I think some of these manufacturers think they are position 1, maybe like you say because they don't want to look weak or scared or worried. So they load the gun give it to the others side and say "shoot me down if you can" .... the other side being huge billion dollar industries like BT and Pharma. ...... I'm not sure if that's admirable or suicidal?
I firmly believe most manufacturers are in position 1 - they'll do what's legal and what they think will make them the most money. I'm much more interested in position 2 and where most vapers think that line should be drawn.

I remain convinced that Cap’n Jack Sparrow was a plant to get kids into booze, orchestrated by Big Rum.

Oddly enough, Big Rum was also my name when I moved from scat porn into door security.

*I had to kill the name in the 70s as BR became a shameful thing to be known by

You mentioned Dinner Lady earlier, I think they may be right on the line for me, not necessarily crossing it though.

I think this is worse

which is another thing. But it's part of the 'we don't give a fuck' branding attitude.

And that Skittles is a 0 nic shortfill. So not falling under any regulation at all, which I think is part of the problem. Many small juice makers are coming onto the market with shortfills, they want to do well, they look around to see what's selling ...... get asked to do a 'blue slushie' or 'skittles' flavour .... so they make a 'blue slushie' or a 'skittles' flavour ....... what can they call it ... erm ........ :D

I agree, I think that's partly why it annoys me so much, I think that 99% of e-liquid brands do a really good job with their labels and packaging, because they care about their businesses and they are trying to be professional. Then there's all these no name short-fills with horrible packaging littering up the shelves of shops because the owners can buy them cheap and sell them cheap. Most of them won't even be around in a month or two, so they don't care what damage they might be doing over all.

ahhh, I need to stop ranting I sound like such a grumpy old man! :D
