There are lies, damn lies, and statistics! There's just no real way to compare country to country unfortunately. Testing and reporting aren't uniform. As much as we might want to hammer the government for their responses comparing to other countries is a crap shoot. We can't rely on reports of number of infected. We can't rely on the number of deaths. You can only really go on sample sizes to give you indications of if it's going up or down in your country, that's is if they're being reported accurately. I can guarantee you the true numbers of everything are higher than reported , I can also pretty much guarantee you the order of countries with the most infected , most dead, most infected / dead per million etc are all wrong too. Brazil and Russia in particular, their numbers make no sense. Russia has 20 death per 1m population and Belgium is sitting on 790. Belgium has 4833 cases per 1m, Russia 2115 per 1m. Belgium has roughly 2.5 x the amount of cases, and just under 40 x the amount of deaths. There's no government decisions in terms of healthcare that explains that difference. I believe you have countries that are deliberately distorting the numbers and then you have testing differences, then you have reporting differences. There's just no way to accurately compare between countries. Have a read.
