So I have always used tanks from day one kayfuns and orchids mostly. Have always had a few drippers here but never really bothered much with them, today I thought I'd have a blast at a new build on my tobh Atty. So built a dual coil coming out at 0.6 ohm, wicked with koh gen do. Postman knocks at the door literally as I'm threading the cotton through with my vapemail concentrates from chefs vapor. So I thought I'd mix a few and try them out on my fresh build.

So I mixed some custard and some red Astaire. Both 3mg 70/30 VG PG

Now I have been using my subtank mini almost exclusively for the last month and have been very impressed with the flavour both on occ and the rba. But I'm not sure if I have just been building shit on my dripper before or whether the subtank is just shit? I put a few drops of red Astaire in the tobh and it has really opened my eyes the flavour is just amazing I can taste so many more different notes through the dripper when compared to my subtank.

Seriously considering shelving the subtank and just dripping all the time.

Couple of questions for the full time dripper tho:

I imagine its a bit of a FAFF dripping whilst out and about at work etc how do you find it? Is it something you just get used to or does it piss you off having to drip all the time?

Is it worth changing to 100% VG with my homebrew? What ratio do you drip?

Think I'll give this a go and see if I get on OK with it really blown away by the flavour its literally like vaping a completely different juice!

Out and about you drip a bit less so you can vape it drier.I tend to carry mine in a pouch that keeps it roughly upright.
I should mention I am a silica (voodoo wool) user so do not have the problem of burning the wick,so I can vape till I start to get the slightly dry silica taste.
I think you are probably a full time dripper type of person or you are not, if you are it just works for you.
Of course you have to try to find out.
I do on a rare occasion use a tank especially if I am going to be grabbing quick stealth vapes.
In some circumstances dripping out and about works better a bit like you smoked fags, have a good vape put it away for a while then have another vape.

I've started dripping out and about a bit, I just do as oldhippydude said and wick it not quite so much so I don't get pocket leakage.

I have never thought of it like that. Suppose its very similar to stopping to make a roll up then putting it all away in your pocket again. I have never tried silica so maybe I'll give that a try. My biggest concern was like you mention it all leaking in your pocket. So am I better to wick so it just touches the deck rather than a big bed of cotton underneath? I'm guessing when out and about I will be vaping a lot less as I can't simply pull it out my pocket and puff I'll have to get a bottle out drip put the bottle away etc. Think my subtank may be up for sale very soon. Already eyeing up some new RDA ;)

I do not put a lot of wick on the deck.Is that the best way? No idea it is just how I build, I do it to let the air flow.
Perhaps more wick in the base would result in less leaking but I do not find that a problem.
If you prefer cotton, no need to change, it is what most people use and I assume you can tell from the taste when it is drying out.

The simple answer to drippers leaking in pockets. Only drip what you want immediately, vape it & then no leaks.
Apart from that choose a dripper more suited for out & about. I manage for work, rest & play with the same rda every day.
Keep your tanks in case you still want 'em.

I'd be interested in a pic or some info on your silica builds. I'm normally strictly cotton wool but the other day i went in for a voodoo wool build & a standard coil. It was good flavour but i don't think it's suited to my small drippers because the stuff was too thick to bend in the tight space.
I have a 22mm dripper on the cards though, maybe in a weekish & i might go for a voodoo wool in that, probably be better in a 22mm.

I use an RDA all the time and it suits me perfectly. I started out this way purely and simply because it gave me a smaller device without compromising battery longevity. My 18650 mod with a Derringer isn't far off the size of a 18500 mod with a tank. I did used to smoke rollies and I think looking at it from that perspective really helps.

If a tank leaks in your pocket you get a massive flood, if you fill and vape as required you rarely get more than a couple of drops from an RDA. I don't use a pouch, but I am confident it would resolve any issues, I just couldn't give a toss about my work trousers :D

Failed to take a photo that showed anything useful.
I use 2mm voodoo in a 2.5 mm coil and just leave a shorter tail on the side that is short of space on something like an igo-l.Once the wick is primed it is easier to get it to go where you want it than when it is dry and in a tight space it might bunch more than you would like especially with voodoo rather tha normal twisted silica which is easier in tight spaces.I use silica rather than cotton because I do not like the taste of cotton and voodoo because it holds together better so I will fit it in anything. You can shift the coil a little away from the neg side but it can be tight in a small dripper.Perhaps you adjust how and where you bend the wick to suit where the wick wants to bend.
On my igo -l the wick from the pos goes straight to the edge of the drip reservoir then bends along it a little way.
On the neg side just enough to bend down to the base and a little more so you can stick it to the base with juice. this is the one that does not want to behave but it does settle down soon enough.
Hope some of this makes sense and is some use but my view is if you want to do it just stick it in there, you will find a way to make it go.

Once I started dripping there was no going back. I havent touched my tanks for ages. New ones too unopened. Can be a bit of a faff but soon get used to it. Cant really add much more but some drippers are more leaky than others but it mostly depends on how u drip n vape. Dripping and driving tho that's an art. well not really recommended:)
