That looks fine I'd give it a dry burn and wipe the crud off with a little stiff paint brush

I have not long started rebuilding wicks and coils and starting to get better at it. iam using Kanthel A1 .20 can I twist it as above or would it be a waste of time sorry if this sounds a daft question but as I said a newbie to this side of the game. cheers

I wouldn't if I were you. If you did you would end up with a VERY low ohm coil. I personally only do twisted wire coils with higher resistance wire like 0.15 mm
