:hmm: I've been thinking of trying out making my own e juices and it is bonus time at the end of the month so thought I'd do a little research into the best deals around for a complete starter pack.

The best deal I've seen so far seems to be by FlavourArt and for £50 you get the following:

Quantity
Item Normal Price
1 100ml BiteXtra Eliquid in choice of strength - 4.5% (45mg/ml) to 0%
£27.00
1 100ml VG (Glycerol) for diluting eliquid
£1.80
1 100ml PG (Propylene Glycol) for diluting eliquid
£1.80
10 4ml Concententrated Flavouring of your choice
£20.00
10 10ml clear Child-resistant dropper bottle with label and tactile triangle
£3.60
1 10ml Luer-slip graduated syringe with plastic safety needle
£1.00
1 1ml Luer-slip graduated syringe with plastic safety needle
£0.50
2 Pair of Nitrile gloves suitable for mixing eliquid
£0.80
Total price if purchased separately £56.50
FlavourArt UK Price £50.00

My question is - does this seem a good deal? Could I get better elsewhere? And has anyone tried this kit?

Thanks

Kaz

You could do better and get more by getting it all individually. If I was you I'd be looking for 72mg nic as the higher the nic, the more you'll get out of it.

I bought a starter kit from leisureliquids for £20 (ish) and have been keeping the empty bottles of pre-made juices since I started.I now buy the ingredients separately from wherever I can find them cheapest so..

VG from Boots £1.28 for 200 ml

Nic base 72 mg for 100 ml 28vapeslater.com £20 (ish) but there's also cheaper from http://vapersemporium.co.uk/index.php?id_product=29&controller=product&id_lang=2 £11.50 for 100 ml

Flavourings I'm still adding to my collection.Just bought 2 bottles of 28 ml from Morrissons supermarket for £0.85p each that are a little weak but do the job.

The starter kit had syringes within, but they expired in a very short time so I asked in Boots when I bought the VG if they sold syringes & after the initial shocked "what do you want them for?" I explained to measure the ingredients so was given 2 x 1 ml syringes as that was the only size they had left.

Next payday,I'll be buying a few flavours from http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/30-ml-INT...s_Cake_Decorating_MJ&var=&hash=item2a213a7404

I little tip for your syringes... Put sellotape over the numbers as they will wear off.

That seems a bit steep, I think you could do better elsewhere.

I started mixing about a month ago and buy all of my supplies for Lt ecigs who are vendors on this forum so you get a discount, 10% I think.

I just bought from them a basic mixing set, needles, bottles, syringes and such like for less than a fiver, and some 54mg nic base, some PG and VG and a selection of concentrated flavourings and that was it, plenty to gat started for not much money.

The service from them is very good and products are very reasonable price wise, I especially like the Dark Fire concetrate, this is my favorite ADV.

Better than sellotape, paint over them with clear nail varnish.

My syringes expired due to the rubber plunger seals falling off the ends of the plungers

Good tip. I don't actually use syringes anymore as my mate half inched some measuring glassware. Nice 5ml conical thingies :-)

Sent from somewhere in Kent.

Thanks for the advice. I have checked the sites you have mentioned and Flavour Art do seem a bit pricey compared........still all a bit bamboozled!! So now I realise that the flavourings added are just standard food flavourings.....and you're bog standard flavours in Morrisons will work???

I am trying to reduce from 24mg juice to 18 mg (just bought my first two bottles of 18mg online today!) So then Does it matter what strength nic base I go for? And why? Also what are the differences between using a pg base and a vg base. God I realise I sound so naive at all this - and prob asking really stupid questions but it seems the sites I have looked at assume that you 'know' certain things about all of this and don't explain it fully!!! Layman's terms please!!

I'm soooo excited about all of this and really want to get involved lol xxxxx

Yes,just need add a little more flavouring than any of the recipe pages say.

I am trying to reduce from 24mg juice to 18 mg (just bought my first two bottles of 18mg online today!) So then Does it matter what strength nic base I go for? The stronger the base nicotine, the further it goes.So 54 mg nic needs less diluting than 72 mg nic..100 ml of 54 mg for example would make 20 bottles of juice versus 100 ml of 72 mg nic makes 35 bottles the same strength.(these aren't the ACTUAL results, just using it to demonstrate) And why?I tried the maths to decide which to buy..72 mg versus 54 mg,and decided the 72 mg was only 5% more expensive than 54 mg yet gave me 18% more nicotine Also what are the differences between using a pg base and a vg base?Propylene Glycol PG reduces the consistency of the Vegetable Glycerine VG,also increases the throat hit TH from the juice but some people are allergic to high PG(I get annoying large zits that just vanish after so many days, though some do turn into proper squirty zits with high PG mixes) God I realise I sound so naive at all this - and prob asking really stupid questions but it seems the sites I have looked at assume that you 'know' certain things about all of this and don't explain it fully!!! It does look daunting, but there are plenty people on here will help you avoid disaster. There are also "idiot-proof" applications you can download to your PC that will calculate exactly what percentage/milliliters,or even drops (tough to get this method right)of each liquid you need add for whatever quantity of juice your mixing,I have POTV app on my phone to do all my calculations, and another one on my PC called "e-juice me up" that will even link to a recipe page where I just download the mixes, load it in the app & up pops the correct ratios of each flavour/PG/VG/nicotine level. http://download.cnet.com/eJuice-Me-Up/3000-18494_4-75222193.html
