I got sent a justfog 2043 clearomizer and the stock coil that it came with was too short so I went to re wick it,
It's exactly the same procedure and setup as a vivi nova which I have done a hundred times without any issues, but I can't get this bloody thing working right. I've now re wicked it no less than 4 freakin times an same result every time the resistance jumps about like a fecker, there's no short with the wick, the correct one is touching the side etc, it's a perfect coil but it started at 2.2 great, dry burn now it's 1.2 wtf, leave it a second ok now it's 3 ooook, there is 100% no shorts on it, like I said 4 attempts same result.
Is it just a dud with internal issues?

Hmm, I had the same in a nova (Which is why I learned to micro-coil as this solved it).
Only thing you can do really, is keep on trying! :(

does sound like shorts or the connection aint great when screwed down

How far can you break down the atty? Maybe there's an insulator broken or missing somewhere?

I had this before, didn't matter how nice & neat I made the bastard, soon as it was in situ, fecker was off 0.9/1.1/1.2/1/7/2.1 every fucking time it heated.I tried dozens of times before I remade a new coil(same wire)and put it on a different atty, only for it too joining in with the fkn hopping ohms.I gave up & not only binned the coils but the fucking wire went too.Seems that 0.3 round kanthal from The Vape Mesh Company is designed to make me want to smoke a stinkie.Much less trouble:rofl:
