What's new

(This is it) TPD Regulations 2016

Fair play to them. There something about rich old lords using the word vaping that makes me smile every time.

It comes to something when the house of lords are 'speaking for the people'!!

They have nothing to lose and when they're not sleeping can actually come out with interesting things to say!

The Science author and journalist Viscount Ripley and the other one, Lord Hunt who is the President of The Royal Society for Public Health, are very influential.

Personally I don't think they will be able to do anything now but they've been successful in the past so maybe increasing pressure over the next months/year?

I've got everything crossed. I just feel so bloody useless.

Silly talk mate. One email to one MP, one post in a forum, every little thing helps and you've been very active in this forum about this topic and alerted folk to what's happening.
That's useful, not useless ;):)

Yeah I'm just knackered. As it does the plethora of others it just grips my shit.
Vaping is the only thing that got me off the fags and, aside from the fact I enjoy it, I really do feel as if it got me free. Sounds like emotional bollocks, scratch that, it is emotional bollocks but I've got a lot to thank this hobby/community/industry for and the thought of it having its nuts cut off in the name of the Euro makes me feel like bawling my eyes out whilst simultaneously barricading myself in a room with the European Parliament and an assortment of power tools.

But, in your opinion, will the lords influence the commons?
Not today, but next time policy is decided, this all counts. Plus it puts extra pressure on MHRA to keep things civil and stop the tax man trying to treat it like a tobacco product.

As they say, enforcement will be 'Italian style' ie very light.

The enforcement might be light but which of the UK vendors will be willing to stretch the rules to find out just how light?

None hopefully. We are lucky, best to remember that and be thankful imo.
