First time builder here. Had a few goes at re-wicking my T3 and evod tonight. Used 2mm silica wick with a flavour wick and tried 4 and 5 turns of 20 kanthal. Turned out a whole world different from the stock heads, very impressed. However also tried one with 3mm wick plus flavour wick but it didn't smoke so good, kinda muted and not much vapour. I note that most reviews are suggesting 3mm so - where did I go wrong? Too tightly wrapped? Too strangled with the couple of strands of flavour wick? Just a bad 'un? My attempts were between 1.6 to 2.1 ohms measured on a Vamo.

As usual, your learned input mucho appreciato.

Hi...I used to re-coil the T3 with 3mm sometimes 4mm and definitely not too tight a wrap, slightly less tight than for 2mm. Also I took a turn less, so if you go for 5 turns with 2mm, I'd definitely go down to 4, which will probably give you around the same resistance as 5 turns with the 2mm- bigger wick/more wire used on the coils - maybe even worth a try at 3 turns. Add a few drops of e-liquid to the new coil. I also used to really fluff out the wick and then get it into place, reassemble and make sure it was cut as close as possible probably sticking out from the reassembled head no more than 3mm max. Often just one 1mm flavour wick was enough, but it can need a bit of mucking about! I'd say a 3mm flavour wick could well be too much but you can easily take out a strand or two. Hope this helps...even then I'd sometimes get a 'duffer'! and if you've found 2mm wick works well for you, you may decide to stick with that!

I have tried from recommendations here 5 wraps of 0.2 over 2 lengths of 2mm. No flavour wick. Found it pretty good so far on the 2 I've done.

Cheers guys. It looks like I'll need to play about a bit with different wicks, not too tight a wrap, try different turns, fluff the wick etc. Also Osca do you mean you wrap around two 2mm wicks? And any hints for getting it not to leak? One did :(

Maybe I also have another related problem now. One of the T3's is the same as it was last night, but the other has lost it's "pop" and became similar in performance to the stock heads. Any thoughts on this?

Yeah wrap around 2 lengths. I was sceptical at first but mine don't leak until you get to the end which is usual. My juice is not pure PG though, is a mix so thicker.

I dont have yet experience on it but i just want to say to you keep up the good work and good luck. hahahah
