What's new

First successful re-wick.

Second successful re-wick!

Last week's coil broke. Did this one in half the time too. Somehow it's reading 0.2ohms though. Don't know how I managed that, but it tastes good so I can't complain.

I'm quite enjoying this now!

Blessings all.
Nice one. But 0.20 ohms?

Thanks for your you're support everybody, it means so much to me. You're all giving me so much confidence, it's unreal. These little successes are making me so happy.

So glad to hear you're enjoying using RTA's :)

0.2ohms is low but if you're enjoying it then carry on.
Have a look at the coil mounting on your next re-wick. I've noticed with the Ares 2 that it's easy to have the leg of the coil slip below the head of the grub screw.

Cheers :)

That was precisely the problem I had the first time. Learning to set the coil above the centre point is probably the biggest lesson I've learned along with using more cotton.

Nice one. But 0.20 ohms?

0.2 ohms and 45 - 60w. I'm not sure I believe it either but that's what is says.

I've got no idea how it happened, the last one was 1.02ohm. They both came in the kit so I don't know why they'd be so different.

Eternal peace and dearest blessings all.

Fair enough, mate. Just surprised me to see such a low reading.

You're doing really well.

It surprised me too but that's what it says. I won't use it at that though.

Did you rake the coil and get it glowing from the middle to the outside?

I didn't take it hard but I test fired it and it was glowing pretty evenly. It didn't seem to need much doing to it to be honest so I just left it alone.

It does seem pretty low to me. That's one of the coils that came included with the Ares 2?

Does wiggling the atty about cause it to fluctuate (sometimes does if it's hitting the sides of the chamber). Or does removing the chamber cause it to change?

Don't want to be a grinch... do want to keep you safe @Astral ... will need you around for woodworking advice :)

No, it's as solid as a rock. I did it up pretty tightly and clipped it pretty closely too so it's definitely not touching the bell housing. I think it's just an anomaly to be honest.

Thank you for the concern as well. Much appreciated my friend.

Not an MTL user, but a 1ohm +/- difference is quite concerning imo. Even +/- 0.2 ohm would still worry me on my own stuff.

I guess if you have a regulated mod and some good batteries you should be ok though.

I'm only using it at 12.5w at the moment and it's on a Gen Nano so I'm hoping I'm fairly safe. :51:
