Hi people, will be getting a True MTL RTA by Ehpro & Naturevape soon, just wondering what watts the standard coil should start at ( all new to me !) Ta
The True comes with a couple of nichrome clapton coils which are about 0.9 ohm and well worth trying.
Edit: I forgot to add that the standard clapton coils work fine at 12 to 15 watts. My usual MTL 8 to 10 watts style is a bit underpowered. I've tried at 20 watts and they spit a bit but loads of vapour.
you can build your own but even if they supply a few 1 Ohm coils
it depends on the wire type and thickness/awg used as well as the Ohms
meaning it could work fine on 12w or it might need 24w on a different/thicker wire
chuck it in, wick it, prime it and try it on say 12w and work upwards (breaking it in)
until you get the flavour - dial it back a bit if it gets too hot/spits like a mad viper etc......
Eventually you decide upon your own coil/watt preference & all that
but without checking the wire spec/awg and recommendations - I'd start low & work up
Unless somebody can say XX watts on std supplied coil - that is a reasonable basis to go on
My standard coil that I put in all MTL RTAs is 1 ohm: Kanthal 27g, 6 wraps, 2.5mm ID (internal diameter). This works for me, but everyone's preferences are slightly different. I vape this anywhere between 12 to 18 watts.
He started at 12w & dialed it down a bit to 10w
probably due to efficient wicking skill, juice and personal preference on a specific juice etc.....
(loads of factors etc... tweaking each tank/build etc... plus blah blah blah)
We guessed 12w as a starting point - which wasn't a bad guess imho
and what I ran a 1.0 Ohm supplied coil on 12w for a while (Ares)
Then bought and built my own 1.5(ish) Ohm stuff (2.5mm coil on 29awg) running at 9 to 11w
(don't need loads & loads of flavour or vapour tbh)
But yeah start at 12 or heck 10w to 12w and adjust it a smidge to suit your own tastes
