Just thought I'd share a little experiment I did this evening.

I normally build my subtank mini with NiFe30 (Stealthvape variety). I've been very happy with that, but recently was getting a bit bored of it and decided to go for something new. NiFe48 is substantially more precise for TC than NiFe30, so I thought I might be able to get away twisted build on the Subtank mini's small RBA deck.

I hand twisted 2 x 28 g NiFe48 and popped on 3/4 wraps at 2.5 mm ID

Comes out at 0.13 Ohm - this is a bit lower than I would normally build, but as you see there is plenty of room for another wrap, and I can twist the wires tighter next time. The TC precision of this build is just over 0.5 mOhm/C - about equivalent to a 0.15 Ohm Ti coil, or 0.5 Ohm SS coil.

The vape is much improved compared to my previous standard build. Lots more vapour, warmer and tastier. On a spacious deck, I reckon this would be doable in dual configuration with 6-8 3 mm wraps. Can't wait to try it on my drippers!

Duals in the Sapor. 7 wraps, 3 mm ID and 0.12 Ohm (I probably didn't get enough twists). This is a bit low for comfort for me, but it vapes pretty well. Only problem is it drains the juice well in 3 pulls and the Mrs is threatening to ban drippers in the flat... It was pretty fiddly, not sure it's worth it, but I might have a go with 30 g and get a drill to twist it. I'd like to be up at 0.15 Ohm or higher if possible.

Update:

Managed to get a nice, tight, even twist by looping the wire around the blade of my kitchen blender. I have since ordered a drill online...

5/6 wraps, 0.17 Ohm. This thing vapes like a beast (for subtank mini anyway) and TC works perfectly. It's a totally different atty. Plus it looks well sexy. Going to try some 29g or 30g NiFe48 for dual coils, just need to order the wire.
