UK New Rules

Here is a thought.

All the mass gatherings back in June / july with the kopites title win, BLM , anti covid marches and more.

Why didn't the numbers spike then?

A little bit odd like, when thousands literally mass gathered

it’s bound to be a conspiracy. it can’t really be anything else.

Been in a supermarket today, woman bumbling round no fucking mask on.
I reported it at the till, reply from lad on checkout was it's not our jurisdiction.
Told him country full of fucktards and we are doomed.

Shop staff have no authority to enforce it, especially when some people are exempt, and there’s no real way of checking. You could ask people not to come in, or to leave if they’re already inside, but then you risk people going to the media and shouting ‘discrimination!’ about your company (already happened).

Warmer weather is the only reason I can think of. That’s the reason winter is typically cold and flu season, because these viruses survive longer on surfaces in cooler temperatures, so get around easier. There may be other reasons but I can’t think of them.

Because walking around outside is not a very effective way of spreading the virus, would be my guess. If that's the case then it doesn't matter if it's hundreds or thousands it's still not an effective way of spreading the virus. Spending an afternoon at a friends house who's positive, then going home to your family, who you live with all the time (or into a care home) is most likely ... prolonged close contact is how it's spread. I think you'd have to be very unlucky to pick it up passing someone in the street, or even walking along outside with a group of people.

our great nation has never faced such peril as in these dark times. it is with great sadness and regret in my heart i must announce that the pubs will shut an hour early starting next week. if we all pull together we can get through this.

Perhaps the lack of spike was a lowish R number due to the lockdown?

With gods help we'll beat this terrible affliction.

It's all just too little and too late again!
Whatever we implement now will take two weeks at least to have any sort of impact so we'll be on 20,000 cases a day by then.
And as the data shows it takes a lot longer for cases to drop as they do to rise.
