UK New Rules

so there will be two different daily death numbers? the “28 day deaths” and the “60 day deaths”? i don’t see how that’s helpful.
Why not make life easier for yourself and say that all deaths are due to Covid and be done with it? :)

Total deaths registered and reported to ONS for England for week ending 11 Sep 20 was 9215.

i’m not sure why it wouldn’t be left to the clinical opinion of doctors, and count deaths that list covid 19 on the death certificate.

It is, isn't it?
Covid, cancer and alzheimers are listed on a death certificate. Is that 3 deaths or 1 death?
100% of people that are born will die. You could list birth as a reason for death but with a 28 day rule that could be avoided. Happy days!

it’s not really though, is it? for it to be counted they need to have a positive test and then die within 28 days or 60 days. if they die after 29 days, or 61 days then they go on either only one list, or no list, despite whether it was covid 19 that did away with them.

i dunno it just seems that having two lists is daft. it either killed them or it didn’t.

What about the cancer? Doesn't that matter?

course it does, but if the doctor put
both on the death certificate they must have believed both were factors in causing the death. it could be counted twice, on the covid numbers and the cancer statistics.

what happens now? if someone has terminal cancer and tests positive for covid then dies within 28 or 60 days?

It's not counted twice. The procedure that is followed will make the choice.
The stats are not the problem. The media will spin some stats and the Gov will highlight the best ones but it's not grand propaganda in action. That's happening elsewhere.
