Vamo v5 problem

Hi.
I'm new to vaping and starting to upgrade my gear.
I bought a vamo v5 (after the firmware test I believe it's a clone) and it has a very strange bug.
Every 10 - 20 puffs it 'spikes'! It gives a very strong pulse/voltage/current I don't really know, it just makes the tank sizzle very quickly and it gives a very burnt/metallic/harsh taste. The only way to avoid it is be very aware of the tank sound and don't inhale the quick sizzle pulses!
What can this be? Wasn't this mod supposed to be protected?
I tried 2 kinds of 18350 batteries - 1 IMR and a couple of trustfire that came with the kit, unstacked and stacked. Played around with voltage and power settings but the random bug happened with all setups.

Any help?

I'm thinking of ordering a vamo v6 circuit if this keeps happening I fell like I'm on a vaping Russian Roulette!

Might be a bad connection with the tank can you try adjusting it? Mine did the same till i adjusted the connection.

Thank you zippi.
What kind of adjustment?

It happened with both top coil and bottom coil clearomizers: CE4 and a MT3.

Next test will be a Protank 2.

I am not familiar with those but the vamo do need a good connection between the tank and device. My vamp has an adjustable pin this is what i adjusted with a screwdriver,i raised it up.

Damn Vamo :)

Hey, Vamo needs a good connection to fire and doesn't like really cheap ego style tanks

on the bottom of your tank you should have a little screw (flat head) turn it a little counter clockwise to bring the screw out a little, this will ensure you have a good connection , you should have no issued with a 510 thread like the one on a protank 2 , be careful not to over tighten your tank as the threads are made of brass so the metal is quite soft and can be easilly damaged ;)

It's probably the connection issue. The Protank 2 is working flawlessly.

Sounds like it is messing up the Ohm reading and then supplying way more volts then are needed.

Vamo has an adjustable centre pin 510, you may want to loosen that off a bit, dead centre of the 510, should need a small flat head to adjust, I would find my aspire needed that pin pulling up a bit whereas my Derringer needed it to be all the way down. just turn it 1 full rotation to the left and see how it goes.

Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks drnick. But my vamo is probably a clone. It does not have the adjustable center pin. It's just a flat pin without a groove for the flat head.

If I remember rightly the Vamo v5 has both RMS and MEAN settings.. Try pressing the + button 10 or 15 times and see if any options pop up.. I think you'll likely want it in RMS mode.

Of corse that may have nothing to do with it but it's worth ruling it out.

StuPot thanks. That was ruled out by default. My Vamo only have the RMS option :)
