Not all vape shops are like this. The staff in my stores range from ex police to ex ice cream makers.
All 5 are extremely knowledgeable and will go out of their way to help without a Bruv or Brudda.
They are polite, honest and more family like than my actual family.

Completely true, if the Cafe ran like that I'd have left years ago

Sadly though the majority of shops do seem to be "lifestyle".

It's nice to find other shops you can go and chat with the staff. 888Vape near us are excellent and not pushy/hipster ect

There's quite a few decent shops in town but there's a fair few "bro, snap back" shop's and they either attempt to sell me shite or circle each other in the corner and talk about whatever set up I've got. Usually you hear "yeah I think it's a lost vape" but they're always stumped as to which tank or rda I'm using. Then you get the faux gangsta chat which couldn't sound more pitiful in a broad Wiltshire accent.
I've often fantasized about dropping them and the cloud king and captain set up they're fogging the room with, in the middle of Kingston and watching how far they get before they're stripped naked and crying for their mum's.

I've said this before but I generally go to the shop that got me started in vaping in the first place as they have a really good knowledge base up to general sub ohm and basic temp control vaping. They know exactly which of the juices they sell match the kit they sell and have a really good selection of reliable gear.
You don't get pressured to step above your comfort zone either.
I recently went in to pick up an old favourite higher vg juice and there was a new member of staff. They took the time to ask what tank I'd be using the juice in, not out of swagger but to be sure I wasn't attempting to use it in a simple clearomiser. They where also taking a huge amount of time to explain how a basic aspire ce 4 kit worked and what juice ranges would be perfect to match it. Really nice to see.
The other shop I'd been in was the largest independent and they'd been really good in the past but this time a member of staff that I know has been at the shop years offered to set up a tank for me to try a particular 50/50 juice. I said that would be great and they then proceeded to put a little 1.8 ohm bvc coil into one of the aspire k series tanks (no problem, so far). She then plonked it on a coolfire 4 plus (70w) and filled the tank. Instantly set the wattage to 25w and fired the mod, passed it to me and said, see what you think.
I obviously said, I know what I'll think. I'll think it tastes of burnt cotton. You gave the wick all of two seconds to soak before firing a little coil aimed at a ten watt vape at (then pointed to the screen) 25w.
She just said "no I didn't" lol. I walked out to the sound of the shoo owner bollocking her behind me. This is why I went to the aforementioned shop.

I wish I had a shop like steam tea that I could just pop into once or twice a week for a brew, talk some nonsense and have a taste of some new flavours. I have such a small group of high vg juices I like. It would be nice to have a shop that really had an interest in finding a flavour I'd repeatedly buy (which is ultimately what makes a returning customer).
I've tried, we've a local vendor who I visited when he had his first shop in a local market town. He actually joined here for a while. He now has a fleet of shops all over the county and a couple here (one virtually five minutes walk away) but due to him having shop assistant's that have little interest in the job, visiting is just a transactional process so I've little interest in revisiting which is a huge shame.

We've got two vape shops in our small town, a V******D branch knocking out Smok and expensive 10ml bottles, and a wee electrical shop that's branched in to ecigs and it's kept the shop open - cheap shite starter kits up through Kanger, Innokin etc, that are expensive compared to online, and loads of cheapish liquid. I've a soft spot for the latter as I used to buy my high pg Chinese Red Bull or American Red from them when I started out.

Asides from that I don't go near them now.

I was in my local shop yeaterday and they have this new guy that in general just seems very excitable. When I walked through the door he just about came in his pants with excitement to show me their new shisha that I had to try. I was going to point out that they had them for ages and I've been saying to the owner for a while to bring them back but it would have been like telling a kid that santa wasnt real!

I'm hoping they listen to a few of my other suggestions like stocking rdas, wire, cotton or even pre made coils but they seem to be against stocking any sort of diy stuff. I'd quite likely pay a couple of quid more to get it on my doorstep. I'd went in yesterday for a mesh coil for a cleito and came away with a bottle of Zap golden pomelo that I wouldn't have went in for because I didnt know I wanted it until I seen it, so I'd likely go in a bit more and buy more if they did.

I've definitely encountered a few of these guys. In fact, it's part of what puts me off big clouds if I'm honest.

I had a similar situation recently whilst delivering a truckload of stock to SkateHut. I mentioned that I used to have a H Street board back in my misspent teens and one of the hipsters (looked a bit like McLovin) tried to earnestly tell me he had the same deck in his personal collection of old school boards, which was clearly a blag. He did end up a bit red faced though as the virgin mary picture it had on wasn't the one he thought it was lol (his colleague said 'no, that's the Santa Cruz virgin mary you're thinking of, mate').
